00:00hey let's go good start placing up his teammate goes around the outside they
00:06come together they go wide and they open the door for Justin Barsha
00:12Cooper Webb almost hit him as well almost took the two top contenders down
00:18Aaron Plessinger was left shaking his head and looking and wondering what just
00:23happened now the gates have opened wide open and Justin Barsha leads Ken Roxton
00:29and now it's tough it looks like Aaron got caught on the inside and now Barsha goes
00:37down looks like he missed the rear brake yeah is that what it must have right just
00:43making that for him I don't know what happened but it didn't end well and now
00:47you look at it now Ken Roxton the guy that was talking about it he raised a start
00:51dependent out front placing and scrambling to try and make his way back through the
00:57field as well what an opportunity for the 94 of Ken Roxton we talked about it at the
01:04beginning of the broadcast here this afternoon he is banged up his shoulder is
01:09injured he considered not finishing the championship but the team himself said
01:14we're gonna keep going we're never gonna give up and look at what that
01:18opportunity has done great start from Mitchell Harrison as well aboard the 86
01:26that partzilla PRMX Kawasaki here is championship contender Chase Sexton
01:34making moves he is ahead of Cooper Webb and Benny Bloss man I chase has made a lot of
01:40time if I'm not mistaken I thought he was off the racetrack now in part with his
01:44team being so he was but he was able to get back on the track really fast I
01:48watched him do that and then Cooper Webb was a couple riders behind him so
01:52they're kind of making the same passes as they come through the pack here
02:00I mean I would think for the number two of Cooper Webb James that it is so
02:06important to make the same moves get by the guys at the same time as chase
02:11accident and not let chase get away all right let's go back and show you what
02:15went down at the beginning of the race because what looked like
02:23the two KTM teammates heading around turn one first I was McElrath into
02:28Flessinger Ferrandes was there Dean Wilson it was a scramble it just in Cooper it
02:34was similar kind of to the 250 main event James you go back that the very the guy in
02:40the very inside it was McElrath in this instance yeah there goes Marsha off the
02:45track yeah definitely missed his rear brake but it's but that start was just
02:50similar right the inside guy just can't get stopped and everything gets pinched
02:54off so quick yeah and once they're trying to lean if you're Aaron you got
02:59another bike on you so it's nothing you can do just gets pulled down but look at
03:03this guy that's what 3.5 seconds looks like back to Joey Savace just his second
03:10race back after missing several races through injury the quadlock Honda riders
03:15doing great in second ahead of Malcolm Stewart and here come the title
03:19contenders Sexton and Webb running fourth and fifth now when you go points racing
03:25right here James this is relatively easy to manage as far as you know any potential
03:32damage as long as you don't go down from a points perspective just being that
03:36close to the ride the rider that you're battling the championship with yeah
03:40absolutely and if I'm Cooper probably having a good time at this point right
03:44just Jason's right in front of them nothing's really happening even if he
03:47gets around you gotta do it on the inside now Savace comes back didn't like
03:53seeing that happen Malcolm's got the spot and he's gonna have more company
03:57because sexton it's here sexton goes by Savace nice move by Chase just making it
04:03happen
04:09Roxanne's lead is almost five seconds but for how much longer what kind of pace
04:13has Stewart got aboard that Husqvarna
04:17and you got to feel that as this race goes on those Roxanne's probably gonna
04:22start coming back to these guys so it's not really too much of a panic as Cooper
04:26Webb makes his way around Joey Savace that shoulder's probably gonna start
04:30bothering Marcy well he is but I was looking at the outside line that Cooper
04:34Webb took to get around Joey Savace that was the same line that Cole Davies was
04:39taken in the main event that we were talking about no wonder if he was able to
04:42watch that 250 main event they should have a run down there here we go here we
04:47go sexton side by side with Malcolm Stewart Malcolm doesn't want to give it up
04:52just yet he won't have a choice in a sexton to second these guys are grinding
04:58going to the front if you chase sexton at least if you can't win you want to be in
05:03front of the two that's what we talked about at the top nice pass by Coop Webb moves up
05:09another position the championship two are now in the top three James I want to
05:16ask you like right here I mean what do you do keep going or if you Cooper Webb I
05:23mean at this point I would actually probably stay behind him you know see if I
05:27can try to pressure on a mistake you know at this point I feel like I said I
05:31think Cooper even if the race finish he'll be fine with this chase isn't
05:35gaining maximum points but the likelihood of you getting in front of chase and
05:40being able to pull away probably not that likely so maybe just stay behind him you
05:44feel good everything looks good hopefully make a mistake and gain some more points
05:48but that's gonna be difficult chase is a tough rider he knows how to ride a
05:52motorcycle but there's no urgency for Cooper to make that pass our team last
05:55lap around sexton was more than one second faster than race leader Ken Rockson
06:02he's got the he's got the speed and that's one of his attributes that makes
06:08sexton so strong not only the ability he never gives up and
06:13he just and he's so quick here we go Aaron placing a Dean Wilson they were
06:19caught up in that first turn incident blessing and no doubt would be fuming
06:25because he felt he had a chance to win this main event got a great start and
06:29there was just that bike to bike contact as he tries to got the inside of Dean
06:33Wilson get bike to bike contact with Shane McElrath and that pushed him out and
06:37and they all started to tumble yeah top position and if you look at the leader
06:43that at least aren't already come down between Ken Rockson and chase second so
06:47again long race to go
06:52Justin Hill aboard the 46 the team tentative KTM the 14 is Dylan Ferrandez
06:57Ferrandez is coming off one of his best results of the year as well last
07:01weekend in Foxborough meanwhile lead has been trimmed to 2.6 seconds rocks and over
07:09sexton yeah they're making a ton of time coop was the fastest
07:12out of those three this past lap he was a 48-0 second fastest chase section 48-3 to
07:19the 48-7 Kenny the third fastest guy
07:22then they come out and basically sitting on ice out of there so still 12 minutes left in
07:33this race this track is going to change so much race is not even close to being over
07:38remember what chase said it's like they're going to be doing a lot of laps tonight so this this track this track is going to continue to
07:45to deteriorate it very very challenging will so guys I just want to fill you in
07:52some stuff last week at the top of the show we talked about Cooper Webb that last lap and how much time he made up last
07:59week and this will just explain how his brain works a little bit when I was
08:03talking to the team they said that when he was approaching that last lap he was in
08:08seventh position he knew the leader Aaron blessing I was behind him so he knew that
08:13if you got to the white flag the worst he could get worst position would be seven so
08:18at that point he decided then save the bike a little bit and go for that last
08:22push in the last lap the reason I tell you this is because the team themselves
08:26couldn't believe that he was that structured about his thinking with the
08:30conditions that the track can in front of him and they said just a perfect way to
08:34explain how intelligent a racer he is and how he just stalks the way he does right now
08:40and knows when to strike fascinating story well his final lap was about a minute faster
08:46than sexton's who he caught past then got past basher and then got past roxton it was
08:52crazy that's how long those laps were taking in the mud in Foxborough now we
08:57have been watching this lead get trimmed and trimmed and now you see first and
09:01second in the same shot roxton and sexton yeah that's what will was talking about
09:05with Cooper that's impressive and I always say especially with me I mean we
09:11can have five out of four people struggle with that but I can add finishing
09:15position on a podium over here so Cooper was able to add what's going on and just
09:20show us how determination he is and how aware everything Jay Thomas was lost oh
09:24Chase Spate messes up in the corner he lost the front end and Mike slips just a
09:30little bit but still doesn't lose that much time to the leader and keeps a nice
09:36gap between himself and Cooper Webb
09:42this guy starting to turn down early we are halfway through this 450 main event and
09:48every lap has been led by Ken rocks and quick reminders stock up on monster energy drinks and
09:54Acme markets and a reminder too that at the end of this main event when we say goodbye here on NBC
10:01we are far from done we'll have a lot of post-race coverage on Peacock so if you haven't had enough
10:08super motocross this afternoon stay with us because we'll bring you a whole lot more in our post-race show
10:14on Peacock here's JT well watch it Ken rocks in here I just wonder how many laps he has in him at full
10:21strength here remember he separated his shoulder right behind before the Birmingham round and he's been
10:26dealing with the hurt ankle as well so all of that leads him to compromise he's gonna lean on other
10:32areas of his body to soak up that effort because he simply is not at full strength and we saw that in Seattle
10:38he was lifting fast and early on in the race but wasn't able to sustain that pace down the stretch
10:44now he's made it past halfway so surely his confidence is increasing with each lap and it's gonna be
10:49something to watch can he keep up this pace for the entire 20 minutes
10:53the 30 year old born in Germany who recently became a proud naturalized US citizen has been in control
11:02and when you're riding with that adversity is Jason just detailed there it makes it even more
11:08remarkable how well Ken Rockson's doing on that progressive x-star Suzuki I can tell you as well
11:16as Kenny is doing and he's hanging on here Chase is able to make the move and Kenny can somehow fight to
11:23the end this is going to be a huge points day for chase sex and especially this time of the series when
11:29you rarely see stuff like this yeah that was a good line wasn't it
11:338.28 left on the clock plus a lap here comes sexton he's been looming and now he's close to making a
11:42move on Roxxon up the inside yeah I don't think Kenny's gonna fight him too hard these guys trained
11:48together during the week so they're good friends now what chase needs to do is put in a couple good
11:53laps hopefully bring Cooper so Cooper doesn't worry about going after you and just focuses on 94 I'm sure
11:59Ken might be a good friend and do his best at trying to hold that number two off but you know
12:04how Cooper is and how strong he is towards the end of the race chase sexton is living and standing by
12:10his words he said pre-race I just have to go out there and win simple as that and he felt good he was
12:16in a positive mindset fastest qualifier had the speed and he's doing what he said he needed to do
12:22started the day 15 points in arrears of Cooper Webb in this championship fight that only has four
12:28rounds left after today as far as monster energy AMA supercross and he would trim that 15 point
12:35disadvantage to just 10 title stays well and truly alive oh yeah we got when I was watching sexton earlier
12:45today qualifying practice James and when I talked about how comfortable he looked on the bike it
12:51just it wasn't like moving around a lot and I go back to that incredible wind that he had in Birmingham
12:56and just how rock solid not only he was riding but how well the bike was handling I saw a lot of that
13:03and how he was riding today yeah it's kind of the same conditions you know that slippery but has a little
13:10bit of loose stuff on it and we know when Chase is in that spot when he has that clean air and he's not
13:15overriding the motorcycle kind of just letting it work for him him and that KTM is second to none
13:21little hiccup there a little bubble for for Robson oh man he's putting in some good laps cases
13:34and at this point that's all they can do and right as I was saying he just looks like he's not in a rush
13:39you know everything's just letting it come to him and he looked like that when he was catching Cooper a
13:44few weeks ago back in in Seattle not in a rush it wasn't until he was out front that things changed so
13:50he's able to ride his own lines and stay clean there's nobody on this track that can match that
13:55pace Ricky right at the top of the show you said Chase Sexton brings some of his best results in the
14:02last five races of a season well here we go he's leading with less than six minutes to go plus a lap
14:08and we're in the last five races of the season and matter of fact 25% of his wins come in the last
14:14five races of a season as it has that riding by Dean Wilson to take a look over because it looked like
14:23they were going to come close to each other but and these lappers you know they're incredible riders
14:29and they know what's at stake and they know how important this championship is and they don't want
14:34to interfere with these guys looking at Aaron Plessinger battle of for nine did a good job of
14:42making his way out but it's going to be what could have been tonight I'm sure AP no matter where he
14:49finished he's going to be bummed because he definitely had the speed to win showed that in
14:52that heat race and he's seen his teammate out front come from the back of the pack to be in the top 10
14:58mighty effort so too Justin Cooper was involved in that turn one incident as well Cooper's worked his
15:04way up to seventh behind Dylan Frandes having one of his best showings of the year Joey Savace awesome
15:10in the top five yeah that's a great ride for Joey Savace and that quad lock Honda team especially
15:17considering the nasty crash that he had back in Indianapolis that was a horrific crash so took a
15:24couple weeks off and he's back out here and he got a great start Joey's a fantastic rider so I did not
15:31a surprise to see him riding so well that's going to be his best result of this 2025 season if he can
15:36hang in there for four and a half more minutes plus a lap here goes Plessinger on Benny Bloss that's for
15:42eighth place as he drifts past the Liqui Moly Fader rider he's got Justin Cooper about a couple seconds
15:52in front of him so he can make his way up okay back up front here's Chase Sexton three point three seconds
16:00ahead of title rival Cooper Webb yeah Cooper's not letting them go he's definitely keeping them honest
16:08but uh Chase is doing a great job being able to navigate his way through the lappers not lose too
16:15much time and and just maintain this gap right here let's take a look at the UFO class moment of the
16:25race and it's the most important one as far as Chase Sexton is concerned the moment he made the move
16:31on Ken Rockson yeah I've got up the inside of him and now all he has to do is control and down to the next one
16:37so nice move Kenny didn't fight him too much but at the same time RC he didn't really have an option
16:41Chase was there yeah he was a beautiful pass had the line got a good drive out of the corner
16:50so if he can maintain this lead he'll pick up his fourth win of the year to add to Anaheim A1 to kick the year off
16:58and then in Glendale and then in Birmingham he'll draw level with Cooper Webb with four wins on the season
17:07and be 12 points behind heading to East Rutherford New Jersey next weekend
17:18part of this historic four consecutive weekends here in the northeast of the United States it's never been
17:25done before he's continuing to build on his lead too James and as you know the further you get out
17:31ahead the easier it is to maintain that lead and the less hard you have to ride and the risk for
17:38falling or something happening goes down and he's definitely earned this position he's wrote an
17:44incredible main event it's been great all day long mention New Jersey next week after that it's off to
17:49Pittsburgh for that fourth consecutive weekend then heading to Denver Colorado and the traditional
17:57Salt Lake City finale for monster energy supercross but remember it's all 31 rounds of the smx world
18:03championship 17 of the supercross would be done by then then it's on to pro motocross and then the smx
18:10playoffs and championship world championship finale
18:17what do you see that you like James I mean I see chase looking like he does during the week you
18:23know I've had a chance to watch him ride a few times and have some conversations with him
18:27I mean when the guy gets in his zone and he's able to just put these put the track together and I think
18:33one thing chase does really good on this ktm is he gets in a rhythm he puts the whole track together
18:38instead of like putting it in pieces like sections here and there he's able to rod the track as a as
18:44one piece just like if you're watching formula one those guys set up corners to to set up two corners
18:49later to to get to this one and I think chase does that very well and when he's in the mode like he is
18:54today if you notice he's going from left to right to left to right there's no rush he's putting his track
19:00together and it's very difficult and I love what I see and it looks like he does every day of the week
19:05when I when I get a chance to watch him ride Ricky relaxed is that a word yeah just relaxed and confident
19:11and and the thing about it is I believe that his competitors know that he is this good and he can do
19:18rise like this but again I just go back to and what James is saying how he just he never breaks his
19:24momentum he's putting the whole track together and the bike it's a testament to not only how well he's
19:29riding but that bike looks really balanced to me doesn't look like it's you know nose heavy or too
19:35rip uh too low at the rear and it just it's just behind it on the track he's lapped all the way up to
19:42nine Naren Plessinger his teammate is the last remaining rider on the lead lap that's how smooth and
19:50fast and efficient it has been I think from the mental side too that needs to be mentioned not only for
19:57for Sexton is how he's able to keep going you know even though maybe he's not in the points lead but
20:04he's never given up I go to the championship set he's won that he's lost he's always there despite
20:10how the season is going yeah you know who that reminds us our good friend Chad Reed yeah you know
20:16that same attitude just no matter what happens the guy's just always going to be there and you know
20:21you think about all the things that's happened the chase is easy to be like go back to Dallas you know
20:26throwing away to win and then a couple weeks ago in Seattle having to win being the fastest Cooper
20:31Webb's getting them but look this guy's here and he fights and every year every weekend he's always
20:37a threatened win and it's just beautiful to watch
20:42special little historical nugget too for Ken Rockson he's going to leave you Stu on 75 podiums he's going to
20:49go to 76 he's going to leave you and Kevin Windham leapfrog ahead checkered flag is out chase sexton in
20:56Philadelphia championship is still alive top two in the championship finish in the top two
21:06Webb loses three points in his advantage over sexton four rounds to go and it is still game on Ken Rockson
21:16riding injured riding wounded will stand on the podium for the 76th time in his career what a legend
21:23sexton and what a ride sexton is pumped some goods
21:34you
21:35you
21:49you
