00:10:39very strong at all and
00:10:41through the course of this
00:10:42race so far he's
00:10:43definitely fought further
00:10:44forward and looks like
00:10:46he's got slightly better
00:10:47balance at the moment
00:10:48than what Brody's got
00:10:49so that's actually a real
00:10:51win for Camp Waters
00:10:52because I didn't think
00:10:53as a race car that he
00:10:54was going to be able to
00:10:54take it to Payne and
00:10:55Kostecki but certainly
00:10:57at the moment with a
00:10:581.2 second lead Payne is
00:11:00driving the car beautifully
00:11:01Kostecki now under
00:11:02significant pressure from
00:11:03Cam Waters
00:11:04yeah it's going to be a
00:11:06comment about Cam let's
00:11:07remember we're right now
00:11:08riding or looking at what
00:11:10is effectively the
00:11:11championship leader by a
00:11:12mile he's only about
00:11:13seven points behind
00:11:14isn't he so this he's

00:11:53he's chasing Golding hard
00:11:55to do it on the outside
00:11:56down here you see if he
00:11:57can duck to the inside when
00:11:58they get down to the next
00:11:59right handers just give him
00:12:00a little lot so Hill and
00:12:03Randall eighth and ninth and
00:12:0515 second penalties hanging
00:12:06over them as Moster continues
00:12:08to apply the pressure and it's
00:12:11making Golding's car start to
00:12:13misbehave as he tries to step
00:12:15it up to keep him at bay
00:12:16the entry to turn seven looks
00:12:23a lot like Siberia at Phillip
00:12:25Island doesn't it when you see
00:12:26the cars arrive under brakes
00:12:28there and have to turn
00:12:29slightly trail the brake all
00:12:31the way to the corner and
00:12:32this fast right hander so that
00:12:34big long curve that concrete
00:12:36slab that's been put in on the
00:12:38left hand side has made that
00:12:40exit speed much faster and then
00:12:42the old surface for this corner
00:12:44here at turn 11 absolutely
00:12:47torches the tires so the right
00:12:51rear tire for the length of
00:12:55time that you're in the corner
00:12:56and the exit wheel spin has to be
00:12:59controlled really diligently
00:13:02see the nice maneuver in the end
00:13:06that Moster was able to make on
00:13:07Golding and was able to get down
00:13:09the inside there at 11
00:13:10the hard part about those recovery
00:13:12drives like that is we just have a
00:13:14look at a bit of a replay here of
00:13:16the combat between these two
00:13:17including a slight touch is that in
00:13:19order to be able to do it you've got
00:13:21to do stuff like that so for Chas
00:13:22you've got to use more of the
00:13:24track you've got to get into some of
00:13:25the rubble you've got to hammer the
00:13:27throttle more like coming out of turn
00:13:2811 he's got to use more throttle
00:13:29angle to get it done that hurts the
00:13:31tire you're also got a lot of hot air
00:13:34around you when it comes to front
00:13:35tire temperature and brake
00:13:37temperature so you can get a gain
00:13:39early but you might have to pay for
00:13:40it later because of how much
00:13:41intensity he had to put through it

00:14:01at the AGP with a car that had a ton of speed
00:14:03when he rolled it out yesterday where did that go
00:14:05and this is one of the great conundrums of the
00:14:07business consistency
00:14:09is the big challenge in the sport and that's
00:14:17one of the things that helped deliver will
00:14:19brown a championship consistency so he's
00:14:22already been on the podium the pilot times
00:14:24this year and is continuing in that same
00:14:26trend that we saw to help contribute to
00:14:28to that championship in 2024
00:14:30there's going to be some real pressure
00:14:33three different forward teams there
00:14:36between Shelby Power with the revised livery
00:14:39this weekend
00:14:39Tickford organization and just in behind
00:14:42there with Ryan Ward at Walkinshaws
00:14:44because that little undercut benefit I heard
00:14:47you say at the core in the Hino Hub
00:14:48that you get a really big gain around this
00:14:52layout with the undercut so who's going
00:14:54to be the first to blink here between
00:14:56those three and then what's the pressure
00:14:58like in the pit to be able to do it to
00:15:01see Macaulay Jones just dribbling off the
00:15:03edge of the road there that's on the way
00:15:04down to turn two
00:15:07this could be a safety car for this
00:15:10that's Paul Scalzo in the background on
00:15:11the radio and that's been an engineering
00:15:13change for Macaulay this year
00:15:15spoke to Paul this morning been sitting
00:15:18nice he was sitting 15th before this they
00:15:20had a problem yesterday where it melted
00:15:22the loom and that's why he lost that
00:15:23time in practice one

00:15:29from Thomas Randall to Will Brown who's
00:15:32sitting in ninth but he's got a penalty
00:15:34over him so in net terms he's further
00:15:36down the order and Will Brown will be
00:15:38aware of that so you're going to be a little
00:15:39careful how you manage it safety car on
00:15:42standby safety car speed limiters in ten
00:15:46nine eight seven six five four three two
00:15:55one safety car speed limiters must be
00:15:57activated
00:15:58well Thomas Randall managed that to the
00:16:00extent that when he jumped on the brakes
00:16:02he locked them so he might have even put a
00:16:03mark on that tire Macaulay's parked off on
00:16:05the verge here we go people are reacting
00:16:08and taking the compulsory stop now this
00:16:09will also be good news for
00:16:11Mostert with a field compression
00:16:14to help him get back into the game here
00:16:16so there'll be a mad scramble
00:16:1827 laps remaining go back to the Hino hub
00:16:20where i talked about last year's longest
00:16:22stint on a slightly different version of
00:16:23the soft tire was 24 laps
00:16:25it's a big ask now the other big question
00:16:28here and who's trapped in the background
00:16:30there it's Will Davison it's a big ask
00:16:32to do this many laps has he got him boxed
00:16:35in there now he's got him boxed in yeah
00:16:37and do they do two or four so we'll need
00:16:39our team in the pit lane to keep us up to
00:16:41speed on all that Ryan Wood has to thread
00:16:43the needle he had to deal with the Red Bull
00:16:45car and Ryan comes out behind LeBrock
00:16:48and who's missing the rim it's a wheel
00:16:51that's been hit by another car so there's a
00:16:53there's been a tire come off a car
00:16:57it's been hit
00:16:59this leader did not pit Matt Payne went
00:17:03past pit lane so he's currently out on the
00:17:05track doing 80k an hour all this chaos is
00:17:07going on in pit lane Brody Kostecki could not
00:17:09get out of his box he was trapped behind
00:17:11one of the walkthrough and dreading united
00:17:12cars and i think when he's trying to get
00:17:14out of the box he's grabbed one of the
00:17:16wheels that came off a car so i think all
00:17:17the wheels are on the cars right it's one
00:17:19of the change wheels that's now found its way
00:17:21into pit lane if it wasn't so hot i'll go
00:17:23and tip it over and find out whose it is
00:17:25i might go do that on top of that i think
00:17:27that was doubly bad news Garth Will Davison
00:17:29who was parked behind him i counted 13
00:17:31seconds lost for Will Davison i ran a
00:17:33stopwatch for Brock Feeney he lost 11 in
00:17:35the stack at the other end
00:17:37yeah we're just looking at the replay
00:17:38thanks boys yeah so as cam hill came out he
00:17:40clobbered one of the tires from the jet
00:17:44courier's djr cars yeah and has carted it
00:17:46out into the lane my immediate response was
00:17:48as that come off a car that's not the case so
00:17:52Matt Payne stays out but the problem for him
00:17:54he's trundling around at the speed that

00:19:27battling to get out oh and randall
00:19:32so lots of weird things going on out there at
00:19:34the moment and one of the biggest things
00:19:36about this layout so the topor pit lane is
00:19:42actually quite extended the length of of the pit
00:19:45lane but what actually happens it's in all in all
00:19:46these segments so within the segments each of
00:19:49the garages are really confined so it's not
00:19:52really the width of the of the fast lane or the
00:19:55service lane per se it's actually how
00:19:57condensed each of the garages are where do
00:20:00you park and then how do you not interrupt
00:20:03another car to get back out
00:20:12sorry larko we don't have you there at the

00:20:21trying to work out why it is red bulls here at
00:20:24the front garage they've got all this clear air
00:20:25in front of them come for a quick walk with me
00:20:28right so plenty of space there which by default
00:20:30gives this team behind them plenty of space as
00:20:33well but look at this see this couple of meters of
00:20:35breezeway here just factor that in right two
00:20:37garages breezeway then we get to here now
00:20:40here's kastegi's pit right two garages no
00:20:44breezeway so it had a compounding effect space
00:20:47space space bang he was jammed in here had
00:20:51nowhere to go as was will davo behind him
00:20:54yeah well done larko and that's exactly what i was
00:20:56trying to get to because it's actually how
00:20:58condensed each of those segments are
00:21:00and that's the drama to be deactivated
00:21:02the speed when it is djr cars
00:21:06another thing i noticed was when brock was
00:21:08departing just how acute the angle was for him
00:21:11to get around the cone marker from the
00:21:14red bull and bull racing garage as well
00:21:16so even though in theory it's a clean shot out
00:21:20there's actually a bit of negotiation involved in that
00:21:24bp safety car has got control of the field
00:21:28gust digging around for more chat let's go
00:21:29uh there was a bit going on in pit lane obviously
00:21:32guys and in the brad jones racing garage
00:21:34bryce ford has had to come back to pit lane and do a
00:21:36second stop because in all the chaos of the double stack
00:21:39one of andre heimgartner's tires that came off his car
00:21:42got picked up and then put on bryce ford's car in the
00:21:46second part of the double stop and that's a big no-no you can't
00:21:48use your teammates tires so they came in and rectified that
00:21:50the cause of all this safety car was another brad jones racing car
00:21:54macaulay jones in the wendy's camaro and that was a crank angle sensor so
00:21:58that's one of the sensors that talks to the ecu that tells
00:22:02where the crank is relative to the camshaft they weren't talking to each
00:22:05other so the engine has shut down
00:22:07engine control unit uh thank you for the update important information there
00:22:13so here's the resulting chaos in the pit lane that the two marks have just
00:22:17been talking about so will davidson is the jet courier's car that's
00:22:21parked up at 45 degrees trying to squeeze in as soon as
00:22:25possible and there's that cone marker that i
00:22:28spoke about so water's out and quite an acute angle for him to depart
00:22:34yeah
00:22:36so have a look how close all that is yeah and then watch oh yeah so that's what
00:22:42i was talking about a moment ago so it's no easy departure out of there for
00:22:45triple eight either and i think the teams probably would have
00:22:49forced that to try to make it as fair as possible based on how
00:22:53condensed every other pit is after the red bull amp hole racing team so
00:23:00as you can see there the way to then get serviced you've got to be able to park
00:23:05the car in the right spot the problem is when will davidson was parked there then
00:23:09it obviously it impacts who's trying to get out from
00:23:14the pit area behind it so i'm just looking now brodie kistecki's gone all the way back
00:23:19from second to seven just an unusual one here between thomas randall who believes he is ahead
00:23:25of car two he thinks he beat him to the safety car line when he finishes stop that's what the
00:23:30extra aggression is on the racetrack there right there with the 55 and on top of that
00:23:34obviously being a safety car he couldn't serve the extra 15 seconds so that's still sits there
00:23:38right now against his name yeah which means that it just crushes him at the end of the race
00:23:42thanks for the update so here's the uh what's going on here we'll see how he goes when he gets
00:23:49to the blend he's actually doing a bit of motocross in the process but you commented why he almost
00:23:59went off the reason he almost went off he was trying to get to that line now i know why yeah that's
00:24:04right i needed to see that again thanks for that team yeah he's ahead yeah he is but i think what
00:24:09was happening is where everybody was looking at him actually running onto the edge of the grass
00:24:14but he's basically by a car length he's in front of right and i'm just standing in the garage for
00:24:22walkinshaw and ready united and they they agreed with that they're saying to tell tom to go past
00:24:27ryan ryan doesn't want to move but tell tom to keep going so they sort of agree with what the situation
00:24:32is but i don't think the message is getting to tom randall so james delzoppo on the left from supercars is
00:24:36telling terry kerr at wau what's going on here and uh richard harris in a conversation as well
00:24:43he's the that randall just was in front of us because we're trying to let randall pass
00:24:49can you tell randall to go yeah it's good donald there as well so they're in they're in there's no
00:24:55argument they're in full agreement yeah they'll just execute it that doesn't normally happen no that's
00:25:00it's not a normal state of affairs rare unanimity exactly all right so after all of that a little
00:25:08spike in proceedings it's pain and waters deep asqually's been a beneficiary from it all because
00:25:13he's up into third position and i mentioned that he was the quickest car on the racetrack in that
00:25:18early phase of the race at one stage laprock wood now randall's got the penalty hanging over him
00:25:24kasteki who got hurt in all of that and it was
00:25:34and it was will brown when i was talking about the fact that i thought it was feeny that was wriggling
00:25:38all right that's sorted i think that was brad wishison yeah there from tickford and
00:26:03james del zoppo is still in the middle of all that because he's still trying to broker
00:26:07still trying to broker some arrangement and and now he's now he's parked it in front of him that was
00:26:13hard that was quite confusing especially because there was actually general agreement
00:26:19imagine if it was a real war for something
00:26:25all right 24 laps remaining this is helping the cause in terms of trying to protect the life of the tyres
00:26:30through to the end of this race
00:26:38race control to safety car return to pit lane this lap please
00:26:45and we will get on with it see how this is going to play out
00:26:50pain's job in the opening sequence of the race was really impressive he resisted the pressure
00:26:55which returns one two three which is where he's highly vulnerable off the start didn't blink held
00:27:00his ground actually built a tiny little margin the pressure was coming on between second and third
00:27:04between deeper squali and waters that's now been changed that picture because
00:27:11in the case of should i say kasteki in the case of the kasteki and waters so for kasteki he's been hurt
00:27:16in that process the reason for mentioning deeper squali was the speed that that car was showing
00:27:22and he's now copped a benefit out of all that and there he is on screen so keep an eye on that
00:27:29dewalt entry see what sort of pace he can now affect on the field
00:27:36charlie schwerkolt is the owner of that outfit that's him on screen and these are live points
00:27:42so the way in which things are at the moment we're still a long way from a checkered flag so you
00:27:47can't get too excited about what all of that means
00:27:52and that was jess marler the managing director of general motors special vehicles
00:27:59and announced thank you so much yesterday that team 18 charlie's team will be the general motors
00:28:07official homologation team so they'll look after the homologation of the camaro moving forward with
00:28:14jeremy moore from general motors and that team with richard holway in there have the capability to do that
00:28:22engineering work and be able to work with all the other teams and share the information
00:28:26big decision there from general motors we're getting ready now for a restart i was thinking
00:28:33further while you were chatting there mark about just the behavior of the tire that we've seen so
00:28:37far this year it has shown great strength in longevity so that'll play towards helping them
00:28:43now manage to the end of this race showing 23 remaining we flick from yellow to green and so
00:28:50matt paint has control of the field now line of stern and the typical story when the field's punched
00:28:54up like this is you can just about guarantee there will be more biff and barge on this lap as they
00:28:58all try to assert themselves for position waters looking hungry trying to stay with him we know
00:29:04that the speed of deep squally's car is there jack lebron's been a beneficiary in this process as well
00:29:10he's now well in the game we are racing one more time 22 remain
00:29:16down the inside wood gets into the side of thomas randall and just moves him up and high and wide in the
00:29:22process glad they argued about that so much reverse that process pretty quickly quickly
00:29:30and then kasteki keep an eye on what brodie can do here he does have the benefit of a somewhat
00:29:35compressed field and we know that he's got a good car he's got a lot of work to do from this point
00:29:41there's some chaos in the back of that shot there because it looked like
00:29:44kyle and fired down the inside i'm not sure which car it was heimgartner there
00:29:48bumping on the way down with goldie with goldie into turn seven so that was wheel-to-wheel contact
00:29:55and as a result andre got carted up high and wide on the exit
00:30:02david reynolds in the tradie energy entry on the outside with james caught an interest trying to sneak
00:30:06by in the process at turn nine then it's heimgartner then it's evans in behind him
00:30:10so heaps of shuffling in this mid pack at the moment
00:30:17trying to figure a way around the outside of it all there is brock feeney
00:30:23and that may have worked for him even i think it did yeah i think it actually worked quite nicely
00:30:28for him not completely closed that deal though so into the breaking area now coming into turn 12 is
00:30:33you're going to be able to close that off yeah he does
00:30:39so fastest lap belonging to matt payne sprint race means there's five points for that one
00:30:45as well if you can hang on to it so he's opened up 0.6 over cam waters
00:30:54this is a hot spot on this racetrack there's been a bit of action through practice earlier in the day
00:30:59and again in this race and that'll continue through the afternoon reminding you that we've
00:31:02got another supercar race to come later on this afternoon on a different type of tire
00:31:09pretty aggressive stuff going in the middle of the field here that pain just half a second off
00:31:15the road on cam waters so cam waters absolutely in this remember before the safety car that waters
00:31:20was putting a lot of pressure on costecchi so he's shown really good pace and this is again
00:31:27shown right there dib smiling on the brock in behind white wood funny straight power pass
00:31:34and as you can see here ryanwood straight down the inside very aggressive
00:31:39little bump in the middle of the corner thomas has to run a little bit wide but he knows he's got the 15
00:31:45second penalty so he just come out of the throttle before turn two and let ryan take over position
00:31:52five and this was a mid-pack move by brock feeney who just went all the way around the outside to
00:31:59stay away from the congestion and the high line worked and by the time he got down to the braking
00:32:04area at turn 12 he was able to clean up clean up jackson evans so that was a nice job tom randall's
00:32:10gone faster in the first sector jack lebrock's quick man through the middle and the fastest car
00:32:15in the final sector of the racetrack alone there's david reynolds has a bit of a sneak peek down the
00:32:19inside uh it's matt paint he's quicker in that final sector and he retains the quickest lap of
00:32:25the race at the moment and a margin of 0.4 of a second over waters looking at the totem there deep
00:32:30squally great job up five spots for brock will brown up five how's kyle allen's job so far up 12 positions
00:32:38golding up eight courtney up 11. so some really good performances in the middle of the field there
00:32:43david reynolds also up six some of that also coming from what went on in pit lane yeah tightening up a
00:32:51bit here he's not going away no he's not going away to begin with i thought matt might have had a little
00:32:56bit of extra margin on him but this is an opportune moment to jump on board with cam waters to focus on
00:33:01where the strengths and weaknesses are in these cars and this particular area waters has been very strong
00:33:05so strong that he's now right on the back of the race leader through that left hander he runs it
00:33:11around the inside in a very different approach to matt and he's right on him lights on just flick the
00:33:17lights on man now it was down here on a couple of occasions earlier in the day where the monster car
00:33:23was stressed under brakes and he made a couple of little errors not the case though in racing configuration
00:33:29out of the final corner now this time through it's going to be 19 laps to go and that is officially
00:33:350.3 of a second on the computer between pain and waters big pressure on matt pain in the early phase
00:33:41of the race now in this second phase of the race and he is not blinking he's gonna have to be careful with
00:33:47with his line down at turn 11 because he runs a really wide open line in the middle of the corner
00:33:56and very easy there for the line that cam orders to take to actually get the car up the inside of him
00:34:02so cam waters will have already picked that out he knows that he's got a different technique at that
00:34:07corner to matt pain but if he goes and does the perfect race line that he likes cam waters will
00:34:13park that thing down the inside no there you go it's 10 11. this is most it on the move he's battling
00:34:20with will davidson here and he's up on the outside he's got jackson evans underneath him as well so he's
00:34:25still trapped in this pack these fellas all battling around 16 17 at the moment remembering that
00:34:30most it went all the way down the order after that contact
00:34:36this is the run out of nine this little kink at 10 is a bit of a nothing burger and then into the
00:34:40left-hander at the hairpin there's a move further up there as feeney tries to get by on courtney and
00:34:50then showed the nose but he didn't quite get there in the end as they got to the latter part of the corner
00:34:54got a reasonable run just trying to get himself now in off this little chicane complex to try to get
00:35:07a run onto the start pretty straight put himself in a position to out breaking james did a nice job on
00:35:14the exit there he jumped away about three quarters of a car link austin now just trying to show the nose
00:35:20and intimidate will davidson it's very important ground for feeney to make if he's able because
00:35:27he's come into the event in third position in the championship having shown tremendous
00:35:32qualifying pace to this point coming into the weekend prior this weekend he was either pole or
00:35:37on the front row for every single race but some of the conversions been difficult so most it continues
00:35:43to claw forward he's back up to 16th position here now and they're having trouble just breaking
00:35:48away from this group there's courtney in the snowy river caravan's entry he's continuing to have
00:35:54lots of arm-to-arm combat here with feeney that i just spoke about so he came 49 at drift from the
00:35:59lead of the championship brown came in with a seven point margin
00:36:07back to the front end of town out of turn 11
00:36:09and it's back at the point five of the second on this lap between pain and waters i think maddie's
00:36:18really going to try to press on here a little bit but just extend that gap just by a couple of car
00:36:22lengths so he's not vulnerable to that move we're talking about at turn 11. he's out a little bit
00:36:28further than he was there before he's at 0.6 of a second it was 0.3 a couple of laps ago and he's got
00:36:34to do it in a very disciplined way because he's got to be able this is the corner so see the inside
00:36:41line matt uses this sort of traditional wide center and well if you can get down the inside he'll be
00:36:47able to take it off him yeah maddie double apexes it he kisses it early and then again later whereas
00:36:52cam just runs it around the inside very different approach
00:36:59pains now back to 0.4 as that little margin continues to see-saw now deep squally was on the podium on a
00:37:06couple of occasions here last year and that earned him a trophy oh oh no he's run wide it's cost him
00:37:15that was courtney down the inside of him so he was trying to battle his way through and then james
00:37:24just parked it down the inside there at turn five this is going to be interesting david reynolds down
00:37:29the inside of heimgartner he just runs him into the dirt slightly gets away with it but that was wild
00:37:40plenty of radio chatter out there at the moment plenty of free references being handed out
00:37:46so definitely courtney was down the inside of most that and that was essentially three or four
00:37:52spots that lost that lost after the fight back inside again this is ongoing so heimgartner having
00:37:58a run here at reynolds into 12 and he's down there makes the deal stick
00:38:07that brings him back up into 12th position for heimgartner he's got a bit of fresh air in front of him
00:38:11he's got a little margin back to courtney who's still got hand-to-hand combat going
00:38:24with brock feeney these fellas battling for 14th and 15th
00:38:27what's that margin doing up the front mark it's got back out to 0.6 again it's fluctuating in a
00:38:350.2 of a second margin look up the back of this little pack here this will be able to squeeze
00:38:40through the on the inside chas mostard and this is the challenge when you're busy in the back of
00:38:47the pack isn't it so he's got will davison to contend with here we jump on board oh he's lost
00:38:52more there because forwards got him at the same time he had to come out of this fall you heard that
00:38:58so for forward to get through at turn eight chas had to just slightly come out of the throttle and
00:39:03that lost his momentum so he's been bashed around a bit in the last couple of laps and
00:39:08that area there from turn five through to turn nine and all that maneuvering hurts tires you've
00:39:14got to take the car out of the ideal line position use more of everything you're also sitting in a queue
00:39:19of cars a lot of heat front tires are affected by it we think that the new type of general comments
00:39:27from the majority of drivers are that they're coping better with that temperature than they have
00:39:31previously speedy tries to seek a path down inside of courtney tries to give him a bit of a helping
00:39:37hand in the process and there's more helping hands down here as well everywhere you look
00:39:44there's uh some combat and is he going to hang on to it no he's gone so thomas randall rotates and is
00:39:51he going to be able to get away with it without wearing another car thankfully yes
00:39:54this is very willing out there at the moment folks we've seen some wild racing through the course
00:40:05of the 25 season not done that's not done at all so forward had to fly down the inside there just to
00:40:11cover mostert because mostert was coming at him how many cars are in that pack it's about eight or nine
00:40:17is there yeah my goodness and so in fact it's pretty much 13 to 22 in one gang yeah and anyone
00:40:30flinches or cops an elbow in this process and you get shuffled out of the pack and the freight train just
00:40:35rocks on by all right up the front though it's a 1.2 second margin near enough between pain and waters
00:40:44pain's been very nice with his tire treatment i think cam tried pretty hard from the restart to
00:40:54put some pressure on but matt pain's been able not only just from the pace perspective but his level
00:41:00of consistency on the last lap 28.5 he was the fastest car on the track again ryan wood was the
00:41:06second fastest car we're riding with chas most of we're looking at bryce forward his former teammate
00:41:12there's a post-race investigation to have a look at and there's another incident that's going to be
00:41:16studied between thomas brandall and also uh brodick stecki is chas going to be able to sneak down the
00:41:24inside here not quite able to do it so watch for turn five so this is the specialty for mostert he fires
00:41:33across this inside curb at turn four then he plunges down the inside there he's just a little bit too far
00:41:38back that time but his signature move is the one straight down the inside we saw a brilliant move
00:41:44last year with will brown and brock feeney and that exact spot when they were battling as teammates
00:41:50this is where he had a spin yesterday down at turn seven and this is looking back from will davison
00:42:01i think oh gee that's a hit hard fairly decent crunch wasn't it yeah
00:42:08james needs eyes in the back of his head today
00:42:12yeah look at this one he gets right up there and then they interlock
00:42:15and that was what punted chas white and then that cost him pretty heavily still actually trying
00:42:20to untangle the remnants of that and this one between reynolds and heimgartner resulted in heimgartner
00:42:26ending up with two on the dirt and subsequently the battle that they've been having he's got back on top of
00:42:33him so i don't know whether brodie bumped him or not didn't it looked like it was in a straight line
00:42:41earlier on but i don't know whether he gave it to him on the way yeah he certainly did there yeah
00:42:46and uh but this is the one that you saw that race control have noted
00:42:53good luck control attentional teams stewards have imposed a 15 second time penalty to car 38 for a
00:42:58driving okay so they've just determined that that's the case so he does get the penalty so wood
00:43:04on lebron turn one nice actually very good work great respect from both those drivers to be able
00:43:11to get that one nicely done so openly speculating where the brodie the brodie tom randall thing was
00:43:18going to result in a whack and it turns out that he has so brodie's now got uh the 15 seconds on
00:43:25hanging on him here as well which is a great shame given the pace and the position
00:43:30so he started in such a commanding position in this race and this one's going to get away from him
00:43:36right wood now has got anton deep squally in his sights so that pain the cam waters 1.4 seconds
00:43:45another one and a half seconds back is deep squally but ryan wood now released after the pass on lebron
00:43:50will be putting maximum pressure on to get to the back of the dewalt camaro and a big run down here
00:43:58now so you see davison down the inside of courtney they've got some history over the years those two
00:44:06hard heads and then right in behind you see them just trying to get a nice exit it's brock feeney
00:44:13feeney's been battling for a few laps now with james he he flicks to the inside gets that done
00:44:21now mostert get parks in there gives him a buff also so james loses two spots on the way in there to
00:44:29turn one amendment such a critical thing isn't it so the minute james had that little rough up down
00:44:35there and just lost a tiny little bit of pace bang he ends up losing two spots in the process now i think
00:44:41mostert might have been a little bit of payback on the previous one down from turn five so i think
00:44:46chas might have just opened the steering and said you probably need to be a bit wider here now i'll
00:44:50help you out there pain meantime he's got a cushion i wouldn't describe it as comfortable but he's got
00:44:56one it's 1.2 seconds and so here's that little return of serve so that's mostert courtney turn one
00:45:02exit there's a bit of a going on out there at the moment isn't it so there's been some lively combat
00:45:07throughout the championship season so he's got to the midway point of the car and this was after
00:45:13feeney was able to sneak down the inside as well
00:45:19golding i didn't mention before was actually up eight positions he's done a pretty good job james
00:45:26golding and that would have come from some of that chaos that was unfolding in the pit area also that
00:45:33won't just be car speed it's got him there but he's trying to get to heimgarten now this is
00:45:37actually for position 10. so pain waters deep asquale ward lebrock brown casteki hill heimgarten and
00:45:46remember casteki has got that penalty to be applied at the end of the race 15 seconds for he cam hill and
00:45:54thomas randall so those that are up the top of the championship battle which include brown waters
00:46:02and feeney the greatest beneficiary of the way things that this the way things are panning out
00:46:06with this race at the moment is that waters in that current position even if he doesn't get over the
00:46:10top of matt payne this is going to serve him quite well and he needs it after the challenging run that
00:46:14he had in melbourne at the grand prix several weeks ago they got off to a huge start sydney motorsport park
00:46:20lots of seesaw up and downs for him in melbourne and looking pretty good here capitalizing at the
00:46:26moment just kind of get back where we knew the pace of the car was all along and so is this bloke
00:46:32yeah will brown was 13th he started 13th today he's up seven spots putting a huge amount of pressure
00:46:37on lebrock to get into p5 so if he can make eight positions you just spoke about the job from waters
00:46:44which has been exceptional but on a hard layout to overtake and all the chaos we've seen
00:46:51unfold so far in this race will brown's done a very good job in terms of a championship contender
00:46:57that's absolutely been his story actually been his career story but it was evident in 2024 and also
00:47:04very much in this championship season as well and this is what is spoken about a lot by the drivers and
00:47:10the engineers a lot in their pre-briefings in the gaps between the race meetings and the way they
00:47:14approach the days is that you're not going to win every race and you won't get on the podium in every
00:47:19race it's how you manage the bottom of the curve that often determines what happens at the end of
00:47:22the championship year so if you will brown you've come in here and you've got a seven point margin
00:47:27and you're on for a battle here fourth and fifth managing it intelligently when you consider where
00:47:32he's very qualified that's that's profit absolutely that's a very impressive run yeah he's been very
00:47:38not damaging the car along the way in those battles
00:47:43pizza hut biggest mover kai allen very good job by young kai and he's rookie season so looking at where
00:47:52will brown might be able to put a move on i reckon turn five looks the spot remember he did that
00:47:58to fini last year he comes off this corner really nicely but it's hard to come out of 11 and have
00:48:04enough momentum to get down the inside for the final complex so he he'll do his best through turn one
00:48:12two three and four off the road fast there kuva murray has gone off and i'm just trying to pick where that
00:48:19is because that has gone off the road that's about 100 meters away from anywhere
00:48:23and lucky not to make contact with the tire wall so that's back on the other side of the road so
00:48:31that's the main straight coming back down from 11 to 12. so is he going to be able to get it out of
00:48:36there is the open question so was he battling someone or did he manage to do that on his own
00:48:43oh he is running that's off turn nine yeah hence the speed and the distance that he went yeah all right
00:48:49so he's got that back on so there was a slight risk there of potential for a safety car deployment
00:48:55let's see if we can understand so we're looking at cooper he's had a run down the inside
00:49:01james is battling him ah they've just interlocked and it shot him to the outside
00:49:09oh wow how's that for a sweep
00:49:11that's wild and james also just trying to get a move done on his teammate in the same process
00:49:21that was all happening out there isn't it they're playing for keeps this year oh my goodness i
00:49:27reckon this is probably the wildest start to a season i've seen in a long long time they had a
00:49:32a little experiment with the front geometry on that car for friday practice one didn't really work so he
00:49:36kind of lost a session but generally happy with his overall pace this year cooper murray and a
00:49:43bit of an ear to ear grin loving life you know being right in the thick of these battles he might
00:49:47have enjoyed ending up so wide and almost making contact with the fence but that's off cooper's car
00:49:54we understand that stuff we saw in the middle of the racetrack here meantime this little battle that's
00:49:58going on involves the rock and brown fifth and sixth position at the moment there's a little margin
00:50:03over brodick stick he's got the penalty hanging over his head together with cam hill
00:50:07so pain at the moment 1.2 seconds pretty much static for the last four or five laps yeah look for this
00:50:12spot so he makes ground through three he gets right across the inside curve at turn four but he's
00:50:19just a little bit too far back i reckon when he gets himself through turn four he will actually put
00:50:25a move on lebrock down there at five that'll be the spot but you can see there that part of the grill
00:50:31falling out at the front of the red bull camaro also he's giving him a little bit of a buff buff
00:50:36buff through there so that's through seven then a little bit of throttle modulation for turn eight
00:50:43then this fast turn in and he gets a really good run this time that's an excellent run but he's on
00:50:49the wrong side of the road so he's got to make up his mind whether he tries to outbrake him he does
00:50:54that was a really nice pass he was able to just generate that mid-corner speed at turn nine
00:51:00and that generated the exit speed he needed to get up the inside and then eventually
00:51:05in front of him that's a really really nice overtaking maneuver there by will brown
00:51:13impressive race craft yeah and it's about managing the millimeters just trying to squeeze every last
00:51:19tiny little bit of performance out of that car so well done nice work pretty impressive let's have a
00:51:24look at that remember qualified in 13th position these guys have been having a tremendous exchange
00:51:30just in the last several laps and then he gets up on the what was the inside and then becomes the
00:51:37outside but actually cleared him earlier you were speculating is he going to get it done and he did it
00:51:42so nice work it's a good battle at the front still because anton di pasquale hasn't gone away
00:51:50so we've been talking about the battle that waters has been putting on
00:51:55but anton di pasquale
00:51:58he hasn't gone away neil his pace in the race has been absolutely excellent well and commented on that
00:52:04earlier that he was showing uh as the quickest car even though when he was down the order but after
00:52:09the safety car intervention he came out and uh certainly got some ground out of all the stuff
00:52:15that went on in the pit lane and so and i mentioned that he's already been on the podium a couple of
00:52:19times here in 2024. geez this whole homologation team thing works i'm sure that it works that quickly
00:52:26but uh you'll take it straight up yeah first camaro by a country mile well when the brass are all here
00:52:35making sure that they're getting a return on investment it's a good time to deliver isn't it
00:52:39do you want to be the factory team absolutely
00:52:44beautiful shot looking over the turn 12 13 14 complex here our race leader the margin to
00:52:49second the margin the third the margin the fourth it's tight make a tiny little error anywhere and
00:52:55those what look like cushions completely disappeared it's certainly not done at this stage what are we
00:53:03just six to go yeah and but to your point right through the blind wood there's nothing in it it's three seconds
00:53:11now uh that little incident that we witnessed before where it was rough and tumble between brodie
00:53:16i beg your pardon between cooper and between james courtney that decided that there's no further
00:53:21case to and that's been confirmed no further case to answer on that one it's come out on screen that's
00:53:26sensible isn't it yeah 1.8 seconds gap pain waters anton fastest car in the last lap
00:53:34so again to that point he's only 0.8 of a second in behind cam waters so again you might want to make a
00:53:43little mistake late there's there's the gaps you can see well the pressure's coming off that pain
00:53:48yeah 0.8 seconds now but the pressure's coming on here in the battle for the miners second third fourth
00:53:54at the moment then there's a decent gap back to this next group that's headed by will brown who's cleared
00:53:58jack now but jack's got his hands full with uh brodie costecchi it's chris pain on the left and jess
00:54:06barler on the right chris's commercial manager of general motors special vehicles jess barler is the
00:54:12boss and the two of them have been working very very hard in the last month or so in terms of being
00:54:20able to come up with the right plan for general motors and have the right model for their homologation
00:54:26and their future participation at supercars great for them to commit move on here frody gets it done
00:54:33down the inside and cam does he get in there as well gives him a little rough up along the way
00:54:40doesn't work in his face when they get to the next right-hander though five to go
00:54:461.9 seconds call it two seconds for pain over waters now
00:54:49so fight on the inside here nice job yeah now very important barry ryan just jumped on the radio
00:54:57to jack lebrock and said he's got a penalty let him go for 15 seconds on him so remember that baz
00:55:02is vastly experienced in this game he's in the back room for jack lebrock and so you don't need to get
00:55:08into a fight to the death in that one that's exactly right you also don't want to get caught with
00:55:16young kyle allen in behind who's made up 13 positions kyle is the next car in behind jack lebrock
00:55:23so matt payne spoke earlier about him being the tire whisperer he's done that today he's done a
00:55:29beautiful job of looking after the tire and making sure that he could flow a penright mustang beautifully
00:55:36all day and that's exactly what's happened but that gap there between second third and fourth
00:55:41continues to crunch down 0.7 of a second between each of those cars now so we're on board with ryan wood
00:55:52young new zealander from wellington who's done a tremendous job
00:55:57here at this venue we did a great job at topo last year he's qualified well in this race he's racing very
00:56:03hard he started on the second rather good in fourth he's ended up right now in behind anton de
00:56:12pasquale battling for third spot so interesting also to just think about performance of the cars and
00:56:19the tires in this phase of the race so they've bled a couple of seconds away from peak but they've
00:56:25actually hung in quite nicely and that was an interesting question leading into the races how
00:56:29would they go because you'll take some of what is learned today and apply it to tomorrow where they'll
00:56:33use the same compound of time so one of the important questions has been asked you now got
00:56:39some really solid information about how they'll behave over the journey 1.954 seconds the gap you can see
00:56:46just gone after two seconds pain over waters see the plus and minuses in this little battle between
00:56:52deep squally and wood what he's doing everything he can to make it two kiwis on the podium he's driven well
00:57:05he has and he's applied himself really well you haven't seen the locked wheels you haven't seen
00:57:09the car off sideways in the grass doing anything weird he's driven the car very accurately
00:57:16very methodically and anytime that you can limit the mistakes around here even on all that hustle and
00:57:21bustle remember all that drama was going on with thomas randall off the back of the safety car
00:57:26he put a really good authority move straight on thomas randall nice race management from the young kiwi
00:57:35this is davidson on top of reynolds 12th and 13th position and just tucked in behind them you've
00:57:41got chas mostard who's had a challenging day at the office he's made ground there's some points in
00:57:46in it but understanding that when he came into this event in fourth in the championship he needs
00:57:51every point he can get at the moment and it wasn't wasn't an overly successful agp for him several
00:57:57weeks ago 2.1 seconds pain is just slowly drifting away from the group here he's a lot of curb through
00:58:04that right-handed chas doesn't he got it onto the gravel there and those shots that we took of him
00:58:09early he might be able to threaten david reynolds here on current form yep gets him another couple
00:58:15of valuable points picking him up to 13th if it continues he's young kyle putting pressure off the
00:58:20block so three laps remaining kai's chance to round him up that's for eighth spot that'll be 14 positions if
00:58:30he's able to do it you can see those margins he's been able to drag those lap times back on jack in
00:58:35the last four laps interesting for me today although the battle for mostert coming through the field
00:58:42after his early dramas he's had to work especially hard but brock feeney has had no pace today no so he
00:58:49wasn't happy yesterday
00:58:50there are two laps remaining the fastest lap of the race belongs to matt payne he set a new record
00:59:03came to the event with brian wood i mentioned in the heno hub at 27.6 that number now sits at a 27.5
00:59:09he's got the margin out to nearly three seconds now
00:59:14but we're watching waiting and wondering what's going to happen second third and fourth
00:59:18waters deep squally we got him what's got him look at that let's put a move on him down at turn
00:59:23five how's that for a move and that changes the complexion of the podium so i just finished saying
00:59:30we were wondering and he's got it happening richard harris engineer one of the new combinations in 2025
00:59:39and so that displaces deep squally who if he had continued in the current vein would have had his
00:59:45third podium in a row at this location given what he achieved here in 2024. so excellent job two kiwis
00:59:54on the podium if they stay as they are and three mustangs pain waters and wood from three different teams
01:00:03brown casteki remembering and there's no point racing him because brodie's got a penalty he had a 15
01:00:12second penalty hovering over him so quite wisely and will will have been informed no point just carrying
01:00:18on too aggressively with that one as this little battle between jack lebrock and kyle and continues
01:00:24three thousand two hundred meters of racing to go to conclude our eighth race eighth race in the
01:00:29championship the first in new zealand this weekend for matt payne he's done and dusted he's away but
01:00:36there's a bunch of little stories to unfold at the back of the pack here and this is one of them cam
01:00:41helps trying real hard to get around late here who's got a 15 second penalty as well so again for will
01:00:47brown no need to engage in combat that's fruitless
01:00:55so excellent drive by young matt payne we know he's proud west around this venue saw a pretty
01:01:04performance in qualifying earlier but for matt payne who at just 22 years of age beautiful this is
01:01:12the spot yeah this is the replay we just caught the tail end of it and he did it nicely got the whole
01:01:16car up the inside and big round of applause at elation inside the garage of walkenshaw andrita
01:01:23united for ryan wood as we come back and focus now on our leader out of turn 11 for the final time
01:01:29in the first race at topo this weekend this has been a huge huge story into the final complex of corners
01:01:37he resisted all the pressure when he jumped off the line from pole position from rody kusnicki
01:01:42they got their stop effects as well and then in the second phase of the race he's done something
01:01:47spectacular new zealand how is this for a story matt payne in position number one ryan wood in position
01:01:54number three a dominant podium for the kiwis well done cam waters the meat in the sandwich
01:02:04and that is a big moment in the career of mattie payne third career win the first one for him in 2025
01:02:13sparkle in his eyes and justifiably proud of a beautiful drive today
01:02:17certainly was he's not all hot and sweaty he was able to compose himself drove the car absolutely
01:02:27beautifully 4.1 seconds was the eventual margin and he just looked after those rear tires
01:02:35drove the car smoothly kept the momentum up and was able to prevail against one of the very best
01:02:41operators in cam waters and dip our hat to his teammate kye allen probably benefit from some of
01:02:46the madness in the pit lane but he got into the top 10 as well so big day for penwright racing
01:02:51congratulations to all of the men and women inside the outfit they've worked hard for that and that
01:02:56adds yet another winner to the list in 2025 let's check those unofficial results for you we've got
01:03:03pain waters wood deeper squally kusnicki brown hill remembering that kusnicki and hill have got penalties to
01:03:08come followed by lebrock kye allen and andre heimgartner and so maximum points together with
01:03:16some bonus points also there for mattie payne and james golding will davison davie reynolds and chas
01:03:20mosteth recovering to 14th position from brock feeney work to come set up wise on that car from
01:03:26fullwood stanaway evans per cab aaron cameron james courtney who was in the thick of it from thomas
01:03:31randall cooper murray and mcauley jones they had a problem with that car mid-race
01:03:35great celebratory moment for all the kiwi fans that have come out in their droves this weekend
01:03:43at towport big moment for this young man 22 years of age from auckland living in melbourne
01:03:50it's a relatively new group of people that have assembled at grove racing to create the unit that
01:03:56is penwright racing they continue to invest in their people their equipment double down on their
01:04:04processes and they've executed a beautiful job today into the protect victory lane comes mattie payne
01:04:09and there's going to be a lot of big grins in there when he arrives and cracks open the door
01:04:14it's a shame you're going to go racing again this afternoon you'd like to be able to go and celebrate
01:04:17no champagne no champagne no he has done a great job and uh i said after those first three corners in
01:04:25the first phase of the race that was impressive yeah one of the hardest heads in the game is brodie
01:04:30and he withstood the blow torch yep and he got down there nicely through turn one through two and three
01:04:37and then he commanded track position in that first phase of the race and got out the other side of the
01:04:44pit stop and we worried there was a gulp of air when he went past and garth tander reported it went
01:04:51past didn't get in to react to the safety car but everybody locked at 80 k's at that time protected him
01:04:57and he was able to come home david couch just into the group as well to say nice work well done
01:05:05that'll mean a lot to him it will you think about what uh greg murphy achieved here in new
01:05:09zealand at puke kohe and the massive fan base and the passion that was built out of that it's a
01:05:14great outcome for everybody that's come out here today and that is very very fine work yeah how's
01:05:19that these two are mates do you reckon yeah no words exchanged just yeah so ryan bro yeah bro um
01:05:30so ryan wood's done a beautiful job today as well he's put a big effort into his championship season
01:05:34this year and his physical preparedness as well so you dip your hat to him but nice for him to get
01:05:39his breakthrough podium he's been working for it for a long time ryan wood let's celebrate this one
01:05:44with jess thank you neil the kiwis are dominating the pertech victory lane and it's this man matt payton
01:05:52takes his third career victory but he's first here at topo matty congratulations the dream realized
01:05:57how does it feel to win on home soil yeah it's pretty uh it's pretty special here today uh we had a good
01:06:03qualifying and i knew we had really good speed for the race i just needed to get the start
01:06:08and uh yeah we did that we we were really good in the first then and then i saw that there was a
01:06:13potential safety car with the wendy's car so i was sort of hoping that it wasn't going to be but
01:06:18and then i got a bit scared because i was out there by myself um when everyone else pitted and i thought
01:06:23oh no this is uh this could just happen but uh oh it's just insane like seeing the crowd um on the
01:06:31in lap you know everyone's clapping it's it's so special to be here and uh yeah the pin right
01:06:36the pin right ford mustang was pretty quick today and uh yeah let's see what we got in the next one
01:06:42tell us about that moment for you and ryan wood i know you're very close kiwi is pretty special to be
01:06:47able to share the podium with him today ah it's super special i saw him fighting there because i was
01:06:52sort of running my own race and i saw him i was pretty sure it was him in fourth and i just knew he had
01:06:57to get past anton and i sort of saw it with a couple of laps to go and i thought ah good on him
01:07:01you know it's pretty cool so known for a long time and uh it's it's really really cool to see us both
01:07:07on the podium today it's awesome great start as you said we love the aggression in pushing kastecchi
01:07:12wide there to make sure you had a commanding position coming out of turn one there was a
01:07:17moment in the race where it looked like cameras come right up to the back of you to have a sniff
01:07:21uh just talk us through how you managed yourself in the closing part of that race and what the
01:07:26difference was in terms of pace between you two today yeah like i knew i had to be aggressive
01:07:30at the start because brodie wasn't really going to give an inch so that's and that's fair racing you
01:07:34know it was pretty fair i i bolded in there and made sure that i was going to come out there in front
01:07:39uh but that was all good and then yeah cam sort of started speeding up there a little bit in the
01:07:43last thing but i was just making sure i was going to save enough just for the end so i could see he
01:07:47was starting to fade away and i just had had the same every lapse which helped so uh yeah it was it was
01:07:54pretty cool i was a little bit yeah i was panicking a little bit with the safety car but
01:07:58i don't know who wouldn't so uh yeah i had to talk myself through the last few laps because i just got
01:08:02a bit itchy and just wanted to get it done so uh yeah it's really special well played betty congratulations
01:08:08on another uh victory here in supercars go and enjoy this one thank you guys and we'll have a chat with
01:08:15cameron wardens who's back on the podium uh a little chaotic there uh on the safety car
01:08:21today you managed to avoid some of that chaos um yeah it was just nice to stay out of all the
01:08:25trouble and um yeah we had a fast car in probably clean air but struggled when we were obviously
01:08:29behind cars so um obviously the team did a good job in the pits which was great got me out in
01:08:35obviously second and um yeah just obviously happy to to snag a podium just talk to us about the
01:08:40difference in pace between you and matt and the closing part of that race um yeah i think we're
01:08:45probably as quick as matt we just kind of had dirty air so um yeah for sure there's a few things
01:08:49that we can make a little bit better with our car but you know it's still fast talk to us about
01:08:54how important this result is today given the context of where we're sitting in the championship
01:08:58but also you're now the championship leader again um yeah it's obviously important after uh you know
01:09:04grand prix wasn't the greatest for us it was good to obviously qualify better today um and we know we
01:09:09have a good race car so uh we just made the most of it then um and yeah i think the next uh the next
01:09:15race of the super soft is going to be very interesting with all the deg but obviously it's great just to get
01:09:19get some points and um you know keep that championship um ticking along can you tune it
01:09:23up a little bit more for this afternoon's race and what's going to be important um yeah we definitely
01:09:27make it better you're always thinking of things that you can do to make it a little bit better
01:09:31i think obviously the great unknown is going to be the super soft tire so no one's really done any
01:09:34long runs on it even quality was a bit chaotic trying to work out what we had under us but um
01:09:39yeah i think we should be all right congratulations on your first podium here in topo thank you
01:09:43and what a moment for young ryan wood a local boy here in new zealand to have two kiwis on the podium
01:09:50is something special i imagine this is a moment that you have dreamt of your entire life how does
01:09:55it feel yeah it was um pretty special to be honest like i don't know i always drive hard and today i
01:10:01felt like i drove a really great race and um you know i felt like i was aggressive when i needed to be
01:10:05aggressive and um the car was so fast and just kudos to everyone at wau for sticking by me and um
01:10:12it just feels amazing to get a podium you know a little bit of a monkey off the back and um
01:10:16now we can uh start from 12th this afternoon and just yeah see what we can do but um really cool
01:10:21felt the home crowd it was um pretty intense there when i got to anton and i was just like
01:10:26you know if we can get two kiwis on the podium better so um i went for it yeah talk us through the
01:10:30moment as you crept up there on anton getting that move made what was going through your mind what
01:10:34were you saying to yourself yeah i'd driven pretty hard to get to the back of that sort of cam and him
01:10:39and um probably used a bit of my tire but um i thought you know if they start squabbling i should
01:10:45should ever have a crack and i did um so yeah it was kudos to rich for coaching me through that race
01:10:50you know we're learning on the fly and he was just telling me to look after it and we're going
01:10:54faster and faster and i was like i think i'm looking after it so um yeah just stoked and thanks to all
01:11:00our sponsors and partners and uh all my kiwi sponsors that have stuck by me so it's a pretty special
01:11:04moment here at home certainly is tell us about that moment with you and matty pain when he came
01:11:09up there to congratulate you just the shock and excitement between the two of you it's something
01:11:13special yeah you know matty and i everyone knows that we're good mates and to see him win and
01:11:18control that race the way he did and for me to you know i had to work pretty hard there for a bit
01:11:22and come through it just felt like old go-karting times except we had a monster car that we've both
01:11:27watched on tv since we were seven um you know in front of us or it was behind behind matt there
01:11:32so um pretty cool race and uh yeah hopefully we can do a bit more of this uh podium stuff as the
01:11:37year goes on indeed congratulations ryan your first podium in supercars thanks jess and hi to

01:11:49terms of the championship picture as jess was hinting cam waters has gone back to the point so they'll
01:11:54have to change the colors of the numbers on that car before we go racing again later today seven
01:11:58point deficit now a ten point lead matt pain has really closed in on the front three chas most it
01:12:03slips a little bit anton deep squali just flying under the radar this year he's finished eighth and
01:12:08seventh and now throws in a fourth to that one to be inside the top five that actually gets andre
01:12:12heimgardner and ryan wood above the cut line and that is at the expense of it looks like thomas randall
01:12:20as well so rebel ampoll racing they've got a fairly handsome lead still 179 points over monster
01:12:26castro racing no change for first second third or fourth but penwright racing a good day for them
01:12:30today gets them ahead of matt stone racing and it really does help them close up to the back of
01:12:34shelby power racing as well so that fight for fourth which is actually where penwright racing finished last
