Pour apporter son soutien à ses amis d'enfance qui combattent au Vietnam, Chickie Donohue (Zac Efron) décide de faire quelque chose de complètement fou : se rendre tout seul sur le front pour apporter aux soldats un petit goût de chez eux : leur bière américaine préférée.
