An elderly man sustained injuries after his car collided with a baby elephant crossing the road at KM30, Jalan Nitar-Mersing, on Tuesday.

Mersing Police Chief Supt Abdul Razak Abdullah Sani stated that the 70-year-old driver suffered neck and wrist injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Kluang Hospital.

00:42action to remove the baby elephant's carcass from the scene.
00:46The case is being investigated under Regulation 10 of the Road Traffic Regulations 1959.
