Daniel Pudil was part of the oh-so-nearly Sheffield Wednesday group that almost got the Owls back to the promised land of the Premier League. In this week's edition of the All Wednesday show we spoke to the former SWFC defender about life in that group of players, and his thoughts on why things didn't work out in the end.

00:00How did you end up at Sheffield Wednesday?
00:02Obviously, you were at Watford.
00:03You'd played, you know, not all the games for Watford that previous season,
00:06but you'd played a fair bit.
00:08How did you end up making the move to Sheffield Wednesday?
00:12Yeah, obviously, I played for Watford.
00:15We got promoted.
00:16And obviously, as you know, in that point, the chairman,
00:20he was trying to get the strongest team as possible for the Premier League,
00:24obviously, and those players who have been part of the team before,
00:27obviously, they get slowly, slowly removed from the club.
00:31So, obviously, I've been looking for some other solution.
00:35As me, I don't like to be sitting on the bench, obviously.
00:37I would rather play the game.
00:39And when I got the offer from Sheffield Wednesday, I did not hesitate.
00:44I just got in the car and just drove all the way from London to Sheffield
00:49and had a quick meeting with the chairman in his hotel.
00:54And basically, in the ten minutes, we have agreed everything.
00:57We had a quick chat.
00:59I had the medication,
01:04I had the physical test and the hospital test and everything.
01:10So, basically, in the ten minutes, everything has been sorted out.
01:13But we didn't have much time because I arrived to Sheffield, I think, 11 o'clock.
01:20And the deadline has been in the midnight.
01:22So, basically, we have just one hour to sort it out, everything.
01:24So, everything has been a little bit in a rush.
01:27But I'm really, really glad and happy that everything has been sorted.
01:31And obviously, since the first day, I felt like at home.
01:36And that's why I'm still in Sheffield.
01:39And I will probably end up here for the rest of my life.
