00:00Good news for our fellow PhilHealth beneficiaries.
00:03Effective this month of October,
00:05the agency will increase the benefit package
00:08for patients who are receiving hemodialysis.
00:12In addition, the agency will also provide free essential services
00:16to their beneficiaries.

00:22Just this February,
00:2447-year-old Jocelyn Chato was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 5.
00:31She was diagnosed with the disease because of high blood pressure.
00:33At first, I felt nauseous.
00:36I thought I was just acidic.
00:38I felt nauseous.
00:39I felt soft.
00:40Then, I couldn't stand up.
00:43My knees felt soft.
00:45Until then, I couldn't take it anymore.
00:49She has been undergoing hemodialysis for almost 8 months.
00:52She is very happy to hear that PhilHealth has increased
00:57its benefit package for hemodialysis.
01:00Like in the laboratory,
01:02the coverage of PhilHealth is limited.
01:05But now, it has been increased.
01:07Almost everyone is covered by PhilHealth.
01:10But now, you can continue to receive treatment
01:14because it's free.
01:15Jocelyn is just one of the CKD-5 patients
01:19who will benefit from the new adjustment
01:22of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation of PhilHealth
01:25in its benefit package for hemodialysis.
01:28Following the PhilHealth Circular No. 2024-0023
01:33which was effective on October 7,
01:36under the new adjustment,
01:38from P4,000 each session,
01:41it has been increased to P6,350
01:44which can be available in accredited dialysis facilities.
01:48This means that the qualified CKD-5 patients
01:52can now receive P990,600
01:56of financial protection each year
01:58from the previous P624,000.
02:02As part of the free essential services
02:05that patients can benefit from,
02:07there are anti-coagulations medications
02:09and drugs and medicines for anemia,
02:12different laboratory tests,
02:14supplies such as dialysers,
02:16hemodialysis solutions,
02:18and dialysis kit each session.
02:21Administrative fees are also included,
02:23such as the use of dialysis machines,
02:26facility fee,
02:27utilities, and staff time.

02:31for the great help for us dialysis patients.
