00:00He's 17th year of service started yesterday in Los Angeles in Major League Baseball.

00:10That's Clayton Kershaw as we go all around MLB from a short eight game Thursday slate,

00:16but plenty of drama ahead of the trade deadline on Tuesday in MLB the Dodgers in their fourth

00:23and final game afternoon ball at Chavez ravine in downtown LA against the Giants in this

00:29midweek set set out Clayton Kershaw for his first start in his debut in the 2024 MLB

00:36campaign.

00:37Kersh was pretty good at the age of 36 entering year number 17.

00:42The Dodgers were booked as a home favorite.

00:45They make good on that ticket a six to four victory over the Giants to take the series

00:50winning three of four games a total of eight and a half does go over the Dodgers have been

00:56hot Donnie since the all-star break.

00:58They had lost eight of 11 games entering the break.

01:01They've now won six of seven since that all-star break in Arlington Nick Ahmed Shohei Ohtani

01:16Yeah, go back to back and also I guess the biggest focus of this is we don't really think

01:20the Giants probably going to make the playoffs Logan Webb's a good pitcher.

01:23I thought Logan Webb might actually be the underdog choice yesterday and it was a close

01:26game till late and the Dodgers pulled out why because they have some superstars like

01:30Shohei Ohtani going yard at the right time.

01:32But having said that about Clayton Kershaw, I don't look at this start and say to myself.

01:36Well good.

01:37This is going to be on a short runway here and it's going to be fantastic down the stretch

01:40and into the playoffs.

01:41He can be a number one or number two pitcher.

01:43If this just gives the Dodgers a quality start every fifth day and I'm not even talking about

01:48I need seven innings pitched 115 pitches.

01:51Just keep the Dodgers in ballgames with the veteran presence who's been there done that

01:55before that could really help them even if Clayton Kershaw isn't in the playoff rotation

01:59as one of the one two or three starting pitchers for the Dodgers because quite frankly when

02:03everybody comes back healthy and if they make a move he won't be there, but at least he

02:06can be that guy to help them down the stretch.

02:09It's a good start that they got yesterday felt good.

02:11We didn't hear anything in the postgame press conference that said anything right tweaking.

02:15That's why he came out of the game.

02:16I like this move for the Dodgers even if it doesn't mean Kershaw is actually going to

02:20be a playoff pitcher.

02:21He'll help in August and September no doubt.
