03:30Ladies, we have one more name to invite into training camp, and on behalf of our entire organization,
03:35we thank you for participating in this audition, and we applaud your talent and your expertise.
03:43Thank you very much.
03:50Our last person invited into the 2023 training camp.
04:01From Columbia, Missouri, number 28, Anna Kate.
04:18Congratulations, ladies, all of you on the field, congratulations, and good night.
04:27The hardest thing about our job is having to cut veterans, but when it comes down to it and the scores are added up,
04:35if those veterans aren't at the right place, then they will get cut.
04:42The best case scenario is that your veterans are the top scorers, as they should be,
04:49and then, you know, in this case, they weren't, and it's disappointing for everybody.
04:56Y'all looking right here, right here, one, two, three, three, four, five, and we're looking this way.
05:05We're angry and we're emotional and mad and sad for our friends that are sitting on the other side
05:12and having to get their stuff and go home for the last time.
05:18This has been a hard day, y'all, I'm not going to lie to you.
05:21There's been a squad that has been broken up, and then there's a new squad here.
05:25I encourage you veterans, you're veterans for a reason, okay?
05:29I understand it hurts, I had people cut when I cheered, but you have a bunch of new faces in here that are looking up to y'all.
05:36So they are looking to y'all to be strong, they're looking to y'all to be leaders, to teach them what the sisterhood's all about.
05:43So use what you're feeling to bring this team together.
05:49That was a good run.
05:56I apologize if we're not in the best of spirits tonight.
05:59I don't want this to take away from this amazing moment in your guys' lives that you get to come to training camp.
06:05We're so proud of you, but obviously this is a really hard moment for us.
06:10Yep.
06:23We love you so much.
06:32I love you guys so much.
06:35I wouldn't have given it up for the world, like anything.
06:40I wouldn't have changed anything.
06:44You're so incredible.
06:54New girls, not quite rookies just yet.
06:56You're in training camp, you're training camp candidates.
06:59If anybody asks, you're not a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader just yet.
07:02You gotta earn that status.
07:04You gotta earn the boots, you gotta earn the palms, and you're going to do that over the next few weeks.
07:08That's all I'm gonna say about that.
07:10If y'all can start passing these around, we're gonna talk about your first meeting and or your first rehearsal.
07:16Can you believe?
07:18No time, no rest for the weary girls.
07:33Could I do a grande ice shake and espresso with almond milk,
07:39two pumps of sugar-free vanilla,
07:42one scoop of vanilla bean powder,
07:45and one packet of Stevia?
07:47Sorry.
07:49This is such a long order.
07:51I want to see yours.
07:53Apparently it's like 60 calories.
07:55Okay, great. I get the sugar-free vanilla syrup too.
07:57Okay, I've seen it.
07:59Did you find that on TikTok?
08:01Yeah, it was on TikTok.
08:03I'm gonna get a tall strawberry acai refresher.
08:06And that is it.
08:08I got the strawberry acai yesterday.
08:10Was it good?
08:11Yes, it was so good.
08:13That's so funny.
08:15She's not a big Starbucks girl.
08:17I'm not a big Starbucks girl.
08:19I'm not really cultured in that area.
08:21What do you think?
08:23Good, right?
08:25It's good.
08:27Good, right?
08:29This is very smooth.
08:31I like it.
08:33Maybe, like, by the end of this,
08:35we'll turn you into a coffee lot.
08:37Totally.
08:39Maybe steps. Tall steps.
08:45Oh, my God, this is so pretty.
08:47I know, right?
08:49Are you serious?
08:51So I'm staying at the Gaylord Texan,
08:54which is the most beautiful hotel I've ever seen.
09:00Just kind of here in this temporary home,
09:02but it is a beautiful home,
09:04so I am not complaining.
09:061, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
09:101, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
09:14Da, ba, ba, 6, 7, 8.
09:18Oh, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
09:221, 2, 3, 4, 5.
09:24Double, yes.
09:268, 1, 2, 3.
09:28Kelly is from New Jersey.
09:30Yeah, that was a good one.
09:32Becca is from Mississippi,
09:34and Charlie is from California,
09:36which is so cool to me
09:38because I have never been to California.
09:42I have only been to New Jersey once.
09:46It's so crazy, guys.
09:48Like, the Dallas Cowboy Shooters,
09:50so far from Texas.
09:52Like, I have, like, since I was little,
09:54I was like, that's what I want to do.
09:56Kelly was so looking forward
09:58to coming to, like, the South
10:00because we have plastic bags.
10:02In New Jersey, she has to carry everything
10:04with a paper bag or just with her items.
10:08I have plastic bags in my room,
10:10and I'm like, I need to take these back home.
10:12Like, I could sell that for money in Jersey.
10:14That is so funny.
10:16Learning little things like that
10:18have been so funny and just so awesome
10:22because we are all in this together.
10:24We are all in the same boat,
10:26and we can just kind of laugh
10:28and go through this process together
10:30because we're all rookies at this.
10:32We don't really know what to expect.
10:34I'm so excited to get all glammed up.
10:36Our first, like, official thing.
10:38They all offer something different,
10:40which I think is so cool and unique,
10:42and you kind of can feed off of each other with that.
10:44I'm excited to see everyone's, like, dresses.
10:46Okay, everyone send what you're wearing.
10:48Yes, for sure.
10:50Y'all.
10:52I'm so excited.
10:54Ah!
11:06Okay, so we're going to do what we normally do.
11:08We're going to line up on either one of those doors.
11:11So if we can go by decade,
11:13and let's have our 70s out here.
11:15Let's do 80s.
11:17Let's do 90s.
11:19My 00s and my 10s.
11:21I can't believe it!
11:23Wow!
11:25You stay there.
11:27And where's my 70s?
11:29Okay, that's Cindy.
11:31Guide off a cat, please.
11:33Straight line.
11:35They'll figure it out.
11:37Hi. What is this?
11:39We call it the welcome clap-in line.
11:41It's very similar to a player intro line at a football game.
11:45So the alumni, we have kind of taken that to this level
11:49to welcome our new training camp candidates
11:51to their very first meeting.
11:59At this meeting, the training camp candidates
12:01will learn what to expect
12:03over the next few weeks in training camp.
12:05Good luck, everybody! We love you so much!
12:07You're going to do amazing!
12:09All right. Love y'all now.
12:11See you, girls!
12:13Hey, y'all, look at me and Wayne.
12:15What time's the reservation?
12:177 to 10. We need to go right now.
12:19Well, it's already 7.35. They've canceled us.
12:21Oh, they haven't.
12:23All right. Are they all in?
12:29Hello!
12:31Hi!
12:33Welcome to the official classroom
12:35of the Dallas Cowboys Football Club,
12:37our new training camp!
12:41So there's 44 in the room.
12:43Facts are, our team is 36.
12:45Everybody at this point
12:47is in the game
12:49at the same starting line.
12:51We will be announcing
12:53the final team by July 19.
12:55So for those of you
12:57that are jobless and homeless
12:59and relocating,
13:01if you make it through July 19,
13:03then you'll have clarity about your future.
13:05Tomorrow, we will start
13:07getting to see you as dancers
13:09with our choreography in our studio.
13:11My advice to you is to bring
13:13your best every
13:15minute you get here,
13:17but don't ever analyze
13:19our expressions.
13:21Well, you may not get much from me
13:23because I've got Botox.
13:27If I could,
13:29Judy will frown at you.
13:35Be dressed and ready
13:37at 7 because we always start
13:39promptly at 7. We should be finished
13:41by 10 o'clock every night.
13:43That's our goal.
13:45No food or drink in the studio, but of course
13:47you may bring dinner in because I know some of you
13:49are running in from work and you have to have something
13:51to eat before rehearsal.
13:53Tina! Tina! Get in!
13:59I'm always the giant amongst y'all.
14:01And I'm always the birdman.
14:03Hi.
14:05How are you? Living the dream,
14:07sister. Thank you.
14:09Thank you. How are you?
14:11Good to see you. I know, it feels weird
14:13being on the other side. I'm like,
14:15okay. I saw Judy and I was
14:17like, go Anna Kate!
14:19And she smiled so big and like,
14:21I love you. You're the sweetest
14:23sister ever. She's
14:25awesome. Her and Victoria would
14:27have so much fun. Victoria will take care
14:29of her. Yeah, she would. She will.
14:31So, I would like
14:33to have you guys introduce yourselves.
14:35Anisha.
14:37Hi everyone. My name
14:39is Anisha. I'm originally from
14:41Porter Ranch, California. I am currently
14:43an orthodontist. It's been
14:45fun. And something fun I
14:47did today, or I guess not so fun,
14:49but I was trying to take a bracket off
14:51of a tooth and I accidentally extracted the
14:53tooth. But
14:55it was a baby tooth, so we're good. There's another
14:57permanent tooth coming, so we're solid.
14:59So, yeah.
15:03I just recently graduated from Texas
15:05Christian University with a degree in finance
15:07and I will begin my job in
15:09August with 49 Financial
15:11as an investment advisor representative.
15:13So today
15:15what I did was study all day. So I
15:17read three chapters and took about
15:19three tests to get my license.
15:21I got my animal
15:23science degree and continue to work
15:25as a veterinary technician.
15:27Currently, I'm actually a fitness instructor
15:29as well, so that has been fun.
15:31I do not like coffee, so I never
15:33know what to order or
15:35what to get, but I try to strawberry acai
15:37for the first time.
15:39My job is not always so glamorous
15:41so I'll spare you a lot of the details, but
15:43today one of the most things I did was
15:45change the trach tube.
15:47It's something that she breathes out of.
15:49It's a little hole in her neck, so I change that out
15:51every few days to make sure that she can breathe well.
15:53It's one thing I did today.
15:55I'm from
15:57Caughill, Texas, and I'm
15:59currently a fitness instructor, a dance
16:01instructor, and a student at the
16:03Joppie Ballet School.
16:07I would like a margarita, please.
16:09You want the Mambo Taxi or
16:11Margarita on the Rock? Just regular. You like Mambo Taxi?
16:13You know what, actually? I want
16:15a skinny margarita
16:17on ice. I got you.
16:19Do you still drink skinny margaritas? I have to.
16:21Lord, no. You're not
16:23a mama. No, not yet.
16:25I mean, I gotta watch it, and I live with
16:27Victoria.
16:29She's tiny,
16:31but she works out a lot. She does.
16:33She's healthy. She does,
16:35but I mean, she doesn't think she is.
16:37She looks like a million bucks.
16:39I'm like, girl.
16:41Because then, you know, one year you're too heavy,
16:43the next year you're too thin. I know.
16:45It's a hard world.
16:47I had hip surgery
16:49in April,
16:51and so obviously I gained a little bit of weight
16:53after that, and I really went through a few weeks
16:55where I was like,
16:57I don't like what I look like. You look great.
16:59Well, thank you. Guess what?
17:01It's Barbie time.
17:03You want blonde or brunette?
17:05You pick.
17:07I'll take a brunette, maybe. A brunette?
17:09Thank you so much.
17:11Thank you.
17:15Come on, one more second.
17:17Give her a hug.
17:19Thank you.
17:21Does everybody know Madeline's
17:23mama was a cheerleader, too?
17:25And Victoria,
17:27both of whose moms
17:29shared a locker room with me.
17:31Congratulations.
17:39It's really exciting and awesome
17:41to make it into training camp,
17:43but there's still a lot of cuts
17:45to be made,
17:47and we never know
17:49when cuts are going to happen.
17:51Not knowing if you're going to get
17:53to the finish line
17:55and get the trophy,
17:57get the uniform, is
17:59really scary. I mean, you put your whole
18:01life on hold to come here,
18:03so it's a lot of pressure.
18:17Well, let's hope
18:19today's word is purpose.
18:21It is.
18:23It has to be.
18:43How are you?
18:45How are you?
18:47You look cute. How are you?
18:49You look cute, too.
18:53You look cute, too.
18:55You look cute, too.
18:59All right.
19:01Welcome to your
19:03first rehearsal.
19:09I want to remind you tonight
19:11that we are here to choose
19:13our team. Cheat word
19:15at the board.
19:17We know you're all great dancers
19:19or you wouldn't be in this room, so we really,
19:21really want to encourage you to start showing
19:23us your personality, your authentic
19:25personality, and also your dancers'
19:27personality, who you are as a showman.
19:29I've seen especially
19:31rookies under pressure kind of crawl
19:33on their heads and freak themselves out,
19:35and we don't even get to see who you really are.
19:37So I want to encourage you to show us your
19:39personality. Okay?
19:43Five, six, seven,
19:45down on eight, step out, one, look,
19:47two, three, four,
19:49five, six, seven, eight.
19:51They're getting faster as they go.
19:53Kaylin, you're right here, so
19:55you're going to get a lot of me tonight.
19:57I watched you a lot.
19:59And
20:01you chopped off the moment
20:03I just told you about. Hesitate
20:05on it. McKenzie,
20:07help her on that.
20:09Seven, eight, one.
20:11Stay higher, longer.
20:13Boom, up,
20:15relevate. Can you get higher?
20:17When someone makes it
20:19into training camp, they first
20:21start learning all of our
20:23game choreography, which is about 50 routines.
20:25It's just, it's a lot.
20:27If I was a 19-year-old
20:29rookie, this would scare me.
20:31Does this make you nervous being in here?
20:33Just a little. But it's okay.
20:35So are y'all ready for kicks?
20:37Yes.
20:43Regardless
20:45of what kind of background they have
20:47come from, I think the biggest challenge
20:49a lot of them have is our kick line.
20:51Precision is a must.
20:53Exactness is a must.
20:55Formations are
20:57a part of our effectiveness.
20:59When they all come together,
21:01they need to dance like
21:03one person.
21:05Sorry, but your kicks
21:07need to be higher.
21:09A blonde with a not
21:11pointed left foot.
21:13Madeline,
21:15almost kind of looks like a stamina thing.
21:17Yes, ma'am.
21:19When you hook up in a line
21:21and you've got the weight of 35 other
21:23girls next to you,
21:25and you all have to kick in
21:27unison, sometimes
21:29the best dancer
21:31just doesn't
21:33get it.
21:35Anisha, you look
21:37honestly in the kick category,
21:39untrained, but you have beautiful
21:41long legs, so there's
21:43potential.
21:45The reality is we're famous
21:47for kicks, so it's a must.
21:51Rookie candidates, forward.
21:53Rookie candidates, come forward.
21:55We'll split into
21:57rookies and vets on this part.
21:59We're all going to go one,
22:01on two.
22:03Rookies are going to wait, vets are going to go
22:05three. This year I'm the only
22:07returning first leader.
22:09The other three retired.
22:11Hair flip on seven, eight.
22:13The first leader is basically
22:15one of our head captains,
22:17taking a world-class organization
22:19and making sure that
22:21we are delivering every year.
22:23Watch Kelsey when she's teaching.
22:25She uses her curves a lot and makes
22:27the step look
22:29sexier.
22:31Kelsey I depend on
22:33so much.
22:35She's a star.
22:37You can already see Kelsey starting
22:39to take a leadership role.
22:41We can see through the years
22:43who people start following
22:45and it's not always
22:47necessarily the best dancer.
22:49We try to pick the best
22:51people leaders. We want
22:53a leader that the girls respect.
22:55Group leaders,
22:57they kind of go by seniority.
22:59You'll see more of a fourth year
23:01up there, fifth year definitely.
23:05Would I want it? Yes.
23:09Having great chemistry
23:11on our team is really important.
23:13They can all be great dancers
23:15but they all
23:17have to get along also.
23:19That's I think the biggest part
23:21in having a successful team.
23:23But sometimes
23:25someone just might not have
23:27the personality that gets
23:29along with the rest of the girls.
23:33For Victoria to be put in a group
23:35leader position she has to connect
23:37more with her teammates.
23:41I wanted to ask
23:43just what y'all think
23:45of me?
23:47You know you're talented.
23:49You know you're beautiful.
23:51In a broad stroke
23:53I don't think you had the same stamina
23:55as 18, 19 year old Victoria.
23:57Really?
23:59Okay.
24:01Just strength.
24:03You could leap and go to heaven and back
24:05even in the kicks. I would say stamina.
24:07If you're working on that, that's great.
24:09Make sure you have enough fuel
24:11and enough energy.
24:15You grew up with Kelly.
24:17Yes.
24:19Besides my mom, Kelly was the first person that held me.
24:21There's just
24:23a different
24:25obstacle that you're having to
24:27maneuver around with me being
24:29a part of DCC.
24:33When I walked into
24:35the audition, seeing her like
24:37have that professional front
24:39took me a second
24:41to get used to.
24:43She is not at her trimmest
24:45state. We were weighing
24:47in like every week.
24:49Sometimes it would be like at 11pm.
24:51You did have some judges say they wanted
24:53you to tone up your tummy.
24:55I didn't really know how to handle that.
24:57I just want to always show them
24:59that I am
25:01either better than they last saw me
25:03or the best. I want them to think
25:05like damn, that's Victoria.
25:07May I ask if there's
25:09a possibility of
25:11seeing me in a
25:13different role?
25:15Like having a
25:17formal leadership
25:19role and title? Is that what you were?
25:21Yes.
25:23Sorry. I have
25:25too many people trying to interrupt our peace of
25:27mind, don't I?
25:29I appreciate that you are
25:31always a very helpful spirit.
25:33So I would say
25:35keep that as a natural
25:37space that you're good at.
25:39You know, I don't know.
25:41She's very
25:43hard to read to me.
25:45Alright. You feel good?
25:47I feel good. You sure?
25:49Yes, I'm positive.
25:51Okay.
25:53Noted. Okay. Thank you.
25:55Bye.
25:57I just
25:59see Victoria as
26:0118 year old Victoria. Yes.
26:03And that's not fair. Well, you've
26:05known her all her life. I know. With the big bow
26:07in her head. True.
26:09I remember this season
26:11there were times where I thought she was
26:13not the young, physically
26:15strongest dancer that she used to be.
26:17I didn't feel that this year, but
26:19the year before, she definitely
26:21had a stamina problem.
26:23That's when she was
26:25getting healthy
26:27again. As long as she's
26:29fueling herself.
26:33Because there was a time where I think
26:35she probably wasn't.
26:43Doctor Anisha? Yes.
26:45I'm ready for you. Ready? Okay.
26:51Hello! Are you excited?
26:53I'm excited for you.
26:55Alright. How are we feeling about your teeth?
26:57Good. Is there anything you guys don't like
26:59about it before we plan to take it off?
27:01No? Alright.
27:03What did you do this weekend? Anything fun?
27:05I'm going to open as wide as you can. There we go.
27:07Alright.
27:09Alright.
27:11I'm going to open as wide as you can. There we go.
27:13Good job. You're doing great.
27:15Almost done, okay?
27:19I know I have
27:21five minutes in between patients. I'll try to run
27:23one or two routines.
27:25Some people have a full day
27:27off and they're able to practice the whole day.
27:29I'm just thinking, you know, I don't have the most amount of practice
27:31time, so I just use what I can.
27:33Yeah. It's rough,
27:35but worth it!
27:37Okay, yeah. Let's go ahead and do an 18 night
27:39attack. You know, I'm obviously getting older.
27:41I'm probably not going to have this opportunity in a few
27:43years, so I'd rather live life to the
27:45fullest and try to take advantage of every hour that
27:47I have in the day. Home
27:49stretch.
27:51When I was in dental school,
27:53I was on the Golden State Warriors.
27:55Warriors is very hip-hop
27:57and it's on a court, so the things that we do on
27:59there is very different from what you would do on a football field.
28:01DCC is
28:03very up on your toes and it's very
28:05technical, whereas my background
28:07is a little bit different in terms of my dance training.
28:09It's a little harder for me to kind of implement
28:11that immediately. I have to kind of think about all those
28:13things as I'm dancing, whereas
28:15another dancer who's trained in that, it just might come
28:17naturally.
28:19I'm going to go check on this patient real quick.
28:31Technique and ballet
28:33are pretty much the base of
28:35dance, and then from
28:37technique, you can go into like
28:39style and genre and everything.
28:41I've been doing ballet
28:43since I was 2 years old.
28:45Ballet is a great base
28:47to have because it just teaches you how to
28:49stand on both feet,
28:51like turns and jumps,
28:53the way that you stretch your legs and the
28:55way that you point your feet.
28:57All things that have
28:59a right answer.
29:01There's a right and a wrong to technique, and that's what I
29:03like to strive to always get the right.
29:09If you're a
29:11Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, what style
29:13of dance is that?
29:15I don't know if I would put it in a genre, just because
29:17I feel like it's its own style.
29:19Like
29:21pom, game day,
29:23sassy, mature style.
29:25I don't know. Something like that.
29:29I've never done anything like it before, so I don't
29:31know what to compare it to.
29:33I feel like that's the hardest part for me
29:35since I'm
29:37in a hotel and this is like my
29:39whole life right now
29:41centered around this audition.
29:43It just makes me think a lot
29:45about what if
29:47the outcome isn't what I want,
29:49which is very possible, but
29:51yeah, I just
29:53get it in my head sometimes.
30:01I've experienced
30:03so many different auditions,
30:05but this one is definitely
30:07the hardest.
30:09I'm in a new state.
30:11I am away from family
30:13and from friends, not great, and I'm making
30:15a ton of friends through this process,
30:17but every day is an audition
30:19and you're trying to continue to
30:21showcase your best,
30:23but also try not to get in your head.
30:25It is challenging.
30:27Tell me about your
30:29fiancé.
30:31Yes, so
30:33my fiancé's name is Will
30:35and we met in college.
30:37He's from Alabama and
30:39we actually met at an
30:41Alabama, whoa, that was
30:43so country. Please cut that out.
30:45That was not funny. Do not
30:47put that in there.
30:49So Will and I met
30:51at the University of Alabama
30:53and I was cheering at
30:55a basketball game
30:57and Will is the
30:59biggest Alabama basketball fan
31:01I have ever met.
31:03Yeah!
31:05Go!
31:07Ever.
31:09He saw me and we
31:11connected through social media
31:13and he
31:15was at a freshman
31:17Bible study with the church I attended
31:19at the time.
31:21Just seeing his social media too,
31:23I was like, okay, well,
31:25I'll give it a try, but I had never dated
31:27anyone before. I was scared of boys.
31:29I didn't have time for boys.
31:31I was scared. I didn't know what to do.
31:33Now we are getting married,
31:35which is crazy. The first boy I met
31:37is now going to be my husband.
31:39It's a lot
31:41being engaged and him just
31:43kind of waiting for what
31:45my life could potentially look like,
31:47but
31:49wherever the Lord takes me,
31:51wherever the Lord takes me,
31:53wherever the Lord takes him,
31:55we're going to be together,
31:57whatever that might look like.
31:59He is prepared to come to Texas
32:01or Florida, wherever we are.
32:11It's always my IT bands
32:13that get really sore on the side.
32:15I have really tight IT bands.
32:17My hamstrings are way more flexible
32:19What do you need your IT bands for?
32:21I guess when we kick to the side.
32:23Am I kicking like this in front of my nose?
32:25I'm not used to that. Does that hurt?
32:27We have
32:2944 ladies now
32:31that are in official
32:33training camp, and
32:35eventually our
32:37perfect geometric team
32:39is 36. That's what we put
32:41on the field.
32:43Well, hopefully we'll make it through tonight.
32:45Does anybody, Judy,
32:47want to remember who is bottom tier
32:49coming out of finals?
32:51Anisha,
32:53Charlie,
32:55Reese, Anna Kate.
32:57After tomorrow
32:59night, rookie night only, we go into uniform fittings,
33:01and I don't want to take anybody into uniform
33:03fittings unnecessarily
33:05because it's too heartbreaking.
33:07Real quick, anybody not get a fitting
33:09time on Saturday morning?
33:11I mean, yes, Saturday?
33:13Good. Everybody's available for Mondays?
33:15Makeover?
33:17Training
33:19camp is a place where we get to
33:21see them in our real performance elements,
33:23nightly rehearsals.
33:25They start learning
33:27multiple genres and styles of
33:29routines.
33:31I'm looking at appearances.
33:33Of course, we have our uniform fitting
33:35and our makeovers.
33:37We make
33:39cuts throughout training camp really at
33:41any step along the way.
33:43We make those decisions when
33:45it seems like we've seen
33:47enough and have evaluated them thoroughly.
33:49Five, six,
33:51seven, eight. It goes one by
33:53one, even two by two.
33:55Everybody in the room, come on, show me
33:57how you move. Hey!
33:59One more time like that, yeah? It goes one
34:01by one, even two by two.
34:03Everybody in the room, come on, show
34:05me how to move. Hey!
34:07That's what I'm talking about. Let's go!
34:09We have some great choreographers
34:11all over the country that
34:13come in and do guest routines
34:15and master classes.
34:17They're in the same industry. They're casting
34:19for music videos. They're casting
34:21for tour dancers. They have
34:23an expertise that we respect.
34:25I always
34:27love to hear their opinion of
34:29who did you notice and tell us
34:31why. Mr. DJ, won't you turn
34:33the music up? All the girls on the dance
34:35floor wantin' some more. Come
34:37Mr. Arms Up Dance Hall.
34:39Mr. DJ, come on and
34:41replay. Slide back and
34:43up, up, lasso. Hey.
34:45Don't wantin' some more.
34:47Like, like.
34:51Anna K,
34:53you have an infectious energy.
34:55I feel like you walk around and
34:57people just automatically look at you.
34:59Kailin,
35:01don't get in your head. It's
35:03okay. Yeah, thank you.
35:05Charlie, make
35:07sure you're dancing in the beat.
35:09Don't try to outperform the music.
35:11Let the music perform within you.
35:13Darian,
35:15make sure that you're finishing your movements.
35:17You never know who's watching or
35:19who's not watching. You know what I mean? Yes, sir. Yeah, but
35:21great job.
35:25I don't know why when I look
35:27at you, I think Disney Princess.
35:29But, like, when you dance, it's like a whole different person.
35:31It's something that
35:33really makes me, like, want to know more about
35:35you. That performance
35:37quality to me is affecting this
35:39entire group. Don't let that
35:41fade.
35:43Anisha, right? Yes. Your aura's
35:45beautiful. It's so great. You know,
35:47let it out. We're like,
35:49you can be very fun to watch.
35:55Victoria right here
35:57stood out to me, right? Victoria, yes.
36:01Yes. I just love her energy.
36:03And she took time off, yeah?
36:05Mm-hmm.
36:07And then these four
36:09are not on my radar right now.
36:11Kaylin. Kaylin. Kennedy.
36:13Becca. Becca and
36:15Charlie.
36:19Evaluations
36:21kind of happen every night.
36:23I'm gonna have you put
36:2536 stickers on 36 people
36:27that make your team.
36:29It kind of comes down to a sticker
36:31because I have people
36:33pick their top 36.
36:35I believe in my system.
36:37I've designed this system so that we have
36:39performance excellence
36:41and performance development.
36:43We'll watch them routine, by
36:45routine, by routine.
36:47And the strugglers might struggle.
36:49It might just be simply we're moving too
36:51fast. It might be that
36:53the others have more training. And
36:55these first initial cuts will definitely
36:57be those that don't have the flexibility
36:59to do what we know they have
37:01to be able to do, which are the high kicks.
37:29I want to see you in the office.
37:31Oh, okay.
37:33And seven.
37:35Kaylin, do you want to see me in the office?
37:37So this comes down. It doesn't break down.
37:39Yeah.
37:41Yeah. Yes.
37:43Okay. How are ya?
37:45Good. Really good.
37:47How are you guys? Good. Sorry to pull you right
37:49out of practice. How you feelin'?
37:51I'm feelin' good. That last one
37:53was a little, getting it still in my head,
37:55but yeah. Your notes.
37:57I just want some words. I want to read
37:59some words to you, and you remember these
38:01forever. Powerful.
38:03Fierce. The word that we've written
38:05a hundred times is you are adorable.
38:07Thank you. You really, really are.
38:09Um.
38:11Here's our
38:13concern. Yes. It's
38:15your kicks and your flexibility.
38:17And your flexibility and your
38:19kicks. And your kicks and your
38:21flexibility. Yes, ma'am. And we
38:23will be making cuts throughout this
38:25rapid next set of
38:27weeks. That's where we are.
38:29Yes, ma'am. Um.
38:31You're not in our top 36,
38:33and it is in the category of
38:35high kicks. Our experience
38:37is
38:39that
38:41there won't be enough time
38:43for your kicks to be game
38:45ready for our show.
38:47I believe I can get there.
38:51We don't know that
38:53yet after three days of training camp,
38:55to be honest with you. We don't think you'll be ready
38:57for this team. I know I can do it.
38:59Oh, I think you can do it. I know I can.
39:01I don't think you can do it
39:03this year.
39:07But you should leave here
39:09knowing that all the judges thought
39:11you were beautiful.
39:13There's this kick and split part
39:15of the job that
39:17needs to also happen.
39:19I understand.
39:21Yes, ma'am.
39:23I held my tears this
39:25entire time.
39:27It's okay.
39:29Thank you, though. We get it.
39:31This is the worst
39:33part of our job. Very worse.
39:35Hi, Michelle.
39:37Hi, honey.
39:39Come on.
39:51One of my roles
39:53is mama bear to
39:55my cubs.
39:57I will go down with you
39:59because I don't want you to go by yourself. Okay.
40:01Thank you. Okay, hon.
40:03Thank you, Michelle. Of course.
40:05Thank you. Of course.
40:07When a young lady is cut,
40:09I make sure
40:11they never leave on their own.
40:13I will wait with her
40:15because it's just, it's that
40:17devastating.
40:21Our first game is a lot earlier this year
40:23and our training camp started a lot later,
40:25so we don't have a lot of time
40:27to nitpick.
40:29Bye, everybody.
40:31Bye.
40:33They have to put in the work to
40:35look clean and come
40:37ready and prepared to look like a vet.
40:39I'm so sad.
40:41I wish you had more time because I know
40:43that you would have...
40:45Yeah.
40:47We'd love to see you back next year.
40:49So sweet.
40:51Here's something special, so we'd love to see you back.
40:55Ready?
40:57Bye, ladies.
40:59Bye, you guys.
41:01Love you.
41:03Bye.
41:05Oh, man.
41:07But, Anisha, you're so talented.
41:09You can do this.
41:11No, girl, you can do it.
41:13You can do it. I believe in you.
41:15Seriously, and I'm not just saying that.
41:21Yes, that's what I was saying.
41:23Yes, girl, represent.
41:25Gosh.
41:27You got it.
41:31What time is your uniform tomorrow?
41:33I'm at 12.40, so I won't see you guys.
41:35Well, then.
41:37Well, then, good luck, girls. See you.
41:39Love you.
41:41I'll see you there on Monday.
41:53Do you eat lunch?
41:57Good old watermelon.
42:01Yum, yum. Yummy.
42:07It's a meal of a DCC.
42:11Victoria, where would you like to eat?
42:13Mom, I'll eat in there.
42:15Okay.
42:25My first year,
42:27before my cut, I was called in
42:29four or five times,
42:31and one was about
42:33my weight.
42:35One was about not being
42:37professional enough and
42:39not communicative enough.
42:41I feel like we're at a point where you really need
42:43to take a real mature
42:45approach to this as a job.
42:47I did
42:49go to a few nutritionists,
42:51but I think I was
42:53not embarrassed
42:55at the time, but unwilling
42:57to accept
42:59the help.
43:01Let me know your opinions on this
43:03little top that I got.
43:05Ooh, I like it. I like all the colors.
43:07Everyone in the world has accepted
43:09curves more
43:11and not having to be,
43:13okay, abs tone, no jiggle.
43:15But
43:17it was just a whole different situation
43:19five, six years ago.
43:21Ew.
43:25Ew what?
43:27I am appalled at myself.
43:29I look disgusting.
43:31You don't look disgusting ever.
43:33Yes, I do.
43:35No,
43:37Mom, my shorts look three sizes
43:39too small. Where?
43:41It's pinching into my
43:43belly rolls.
43:45Okay, that's too
43:47critical. I'm sorry. No.
43:49If you zoomed in on any of the
43:51other girls at this angle,
43:53you're going to get the same stuff.
43:57There's no way
43:59to hide it, like anything.
44:01It's so mentally challenging
44:03to keep that physique up.
44:05Whether it's healthy habits,
44:07bad habits, it's hard.
44:09You don't
44:11get a new uniform.
44:13Once you're fitted for that uniform,
44:15that size is the size that you get.
44:17You don't get to go up. If you go up,
44:19they're like,
44:21why does this not fit you?
44:23A lot of girls think if you strength train
44:25or weight train, you're going to
44:27bulk up and nobody wants to bulk up on the team
44:29because you want to fit in your shorts
44:31that are pretty small.
44:33I think it's harder for girls
44:35not to even just
44:37not want to starve themselves because I know
44:39when I look in the uniform, I'm always like,
44:41oh man, I need to lose at least three pounds.
44:55Oh my God.
44:57This is history.
44:59We've
45:01recovered a pair of old shorts.
45:03Let's call it
45:051980 something and then now
45:07this is current.
45:09Everybody says we've changed them.
45:11All we've done is sparkle
45:13them. The people that keep telling me
45:15I've made the uniform smaller, here's your proof
45:17in the pudding.
45:19When you look at
45:21the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders uniform,
45:23it's instantly recognizable.
45:25There's no doubt
45:27when you see someone
45:29in that white uniform with the
45:31blue stars, the fringe, the blue blouse,
45:33the tie,
45:35that's who they are.
45:45Reese, are you ready?
45:51Do you need help?
45:53Uh oh.
45:55The uniform is
45:57beautiful and it's also
45:59very form fitting
46:01and it's definitely not one size fits all.
46:07But confidence, their own
46:09internal confidence can
46:11make them appear better in the
46:13uniform.
46:15The uniform is
46:17literally a part of the audition process.
46:19Becca in person
46:21looks too scrawny and I want to see
46:23if the uniform fattens her up.
46:25You try it on and
46:27you're trying to speak with Kelly so that you're
46:29wanting her to fall in love with you, to be like
46:31this girl should be on the squad and you're also
46:33hoping that the shorts fit you
46:35in the right way that they're supposed to fit.
46:37There's Camille. Oh, I knew this would pop.
46:39Yes, you look great. Come on
46:41down girl.
46:43The nerves are mixed because one,
46:45you have to stand in front of Kelly
46:47and try to
46:49keep the conversation going.
46:51That is terrifying. What's your opinion of
46:53artificial intelligence? So what do you think
46:55is the best thing for everybody in here to eat before practice?
46:57To sustain practice.
46:59What's your fiance's name? His name is Will.
47:01He's actually my first boyfriend.
47:03Really?
47:05He's the first guy I've ever dated.
47:07Good.
47:09So he's Catholic and you're Buddhist.
47:11How are y'all going to raise children?
47:13So I converted to Catholicism. You did?
47:15Yeah. Wow. Yeah.
47:17I've never been through a process
47:19like becoming a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader
47:21because the things that come into
47:23play, you would never think of before.
47:25What's our average belly button to?
47:27About two and a half, yeah.
47:29It looks a little low to me at the moment.
47:31I think that
47:33torso proportion is a big thing.
47:35They don't want it to look disproportionalized
47:37almost. I'm
47:39seeing too many inches here.
47:41Yeah, we're going to raise the belt.
47:43You don't want to look too skinny.
47:45You don't want to look too thick. You don't want your left
47:47handles to hang over the side. You don't want your legs to look too big.
47:49Thighs look a little
47:51angular.
47:53You want to have some good looking cleavage
47:55but not, oh my gosh, this is out of control.
47:57You're so tiny.
47:59But everything's natural?
48:01Yeah.
48:03Got it from my mama.
48:05I'm so excited for the Kelly knot.
48:11It fits her perfectly.
48:13Everything's great.
48:15Petite and proportionate.
48:17If your
48:19God-given body is proportioned in a certain
48:21way, you're just lucky.
48:23I was looking at her and I was like,
48:25she's got the perfect dimensions for the uniform.
48:27Yeah, she's beautiful. She'll look great.
48:29And obviously fitness
48:31and eating right is important but there are
48:33some things that you really can't control.
48:35I'm going to rename this girl Tiny Heinlein.
48:37She has no booty so
48:39we can go up higher.
48:41Becca, is this your normal
48:43maintainable weight?
48:45This is about normal for me.
48:47You're a curvy girl in a great way.
48:49If someone
48:51looks like the uniform belongs
48:53on them, it could change
48:55the trajectory of training camp.
48:59You got
49:0122 days till we're introducing the world
49:03famous Dallas Cowboys
49:05cheerleaders in a stadium.
49:07There's going to start being some movement.
49:11Kelly has gone
49:13down some.
49:15Kelly dropped down
49:17to me last night.
49:19Charlie, from a dance
49:21perspective, it shocks me she's this low.
49:23Anna Kate
49:25wasn't everything I'd
49:27heard about her.
49:29Anisha, she's going to
49:31keep moving up.
49:33Here I am.
49:35Here I am.
49:37Here I am.
49:39I can't even
49:41believe it. I've been dreaming since
49:43I was a little girl to put on this uniform.
49:45When I go to work, I don't have any makeup on.
49:47I have my scrubs on. That's literally it.
49:49When I'm here, I get to just play
49:51a different character. I feel like I'm
49:53in a dream.
49:55I love it.
49:57It like makes it all
49:59feel real in a sense and
50:01I want to do it again.
50:03There's a lot of things
50:05that run into a young woman's
50:07head of
50:09body image and being
50:11your best and feeling
50:13your best physically and
50:15mentally and emotionally, but
50:17putting that uniform on,
50:19I just felt like
50:21Wonder Woman.
50:23Seeing it on my body and being like
50:25this is something that could actually
50:27happen, it's just kind of
50:29nerve-wracking to think of that and think
50:31of the process that's still to come.
50:33It's so
50:35surreal getting to
50:37have the uniform on,
50:39but it's also
50:41so hard to imagine
50:43not making it.
50:45Kelly just reminded
50:47me, she was like, don't get
50:49comfortable, and I
50:51completely agree with her. I don't want to get
50:53comfortable. I don't want to be like, oh my gosh.
50:55It is the coolest thing I've ever
50:57experienced, but I also don't want to take
50:59that and sit on it too much
51:01because I know every day is an audition.
51:03Every day I need to keep pushing.
51:05But it's just
51:07an arm's reach, and I just want it
51:09so badly.
