00:00 Across the state our volunteers have returned over 1,200 people to shore with our Sydney
00:05 region being the busiest with over 538 people returned to shore.
00:11 Unfortunately we are still seeing too many boaters and their vessels succumb to mechanical,
00:15 fuel and battery issues with over 60% of our responses last month for these three preventable
00:22 issues.
00:24 With a fortnight remaining in the official boating season we're asking boaters to make
00:28 sure that they plan and prepare before hitting the water.
00:33 Please ensure that your vessel is in good working order, that you have the required
00:37 safety equipment for your voyage and most importantly that you've got enough fuel and
00:40 reserve to return.
00:43 Logging on via the Marine Rescue app or over VHF Marine Channel 16 ensures that our dedicated
00:49 volunteers keep watch for boaters and make sure that we're monitoring their safe return.
