Residents object to a proposed battery power storage facility in the centre of Minsterley.

00:00 Hi I'm Mike Davis, local resident in Minsterley and I live about 50 yards over the other side of
00:06 this field. This is the paddock where they've applied for planning permission to erect a
00:11 battery electric storage station. We do need these storage stations but the problem with this
00:18 particular one is this is a level 3b flood zone and it's within 100 meters, well it's within
00:26 50 meters of my house, my daughter's house and within 100 meters of about a dozen houses
00:32 just here. So my argument is a level 3b flood zone is not the best place to put a battery electric
00:40 storage station. Access is limited and these stations are not without risk. It causes all
00:51 sorts of problems for the fire service if there are any problems. They take days not hours
00:57 to extinguish. They're not yet subject to regulation and the regulations have still
01:02 got to catch up with the technology and I just think a level b flood zone and all this housing
01:10 it's too close. These things should be on industrial land or agricultural land
01:15 away from residential development.
