Hello there. Welcome to your latest broadcast from the Met Office. Well, cloudy skies dominate
00:06
over the next few days and not much is changing weather-wise and that's all down to this area
00:11
of low pressure. Sat and stuck to the south of the UK at the moment, quite a keen easterly
00:16
breeze for many making it feel quite chilly as we go through the rest of the weekend and
00:20
into the beginning of next week. So, let's look at the details for the rest of this evening
00:27
and into the early hours. It is cloudy across many areas. We've had some quite heavy and
00:32
steady rain across south-western parts through this evening. Overnight, this spreads its
00:36
way northwards into parts of the Midlands, Wales, Northern England too, the rain turning
00:40
heavy at times. Behind it, some clear spells developing ahead of it as well across northern
00:45
parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, one or two clear spells. But for the vast majority
00:50
of us, it will be a cloudy night to come. The wind is still coming in from the east
00:54
and with the cloud cover around, it will stop temperatures from falling too low and generally
00:59
for most of us, holding up around 5 or 6 degrees. Under any clearer spells, particularly across
01:05
the north-west of the UK, could be a little lower than this. But for most, it will be
01:09
a cloudy, damp start to Sunday morning. Outbreaks of rain which could be heavy at times, murky
01:14
conditions over the higher ground too which could lead to some tricky travelling conditions.
01:19
And then little change as we move through the day. For the vast majority of us, it stays
01:23
cloudy. This weather front just pushes westwards a little bit but behind it, plenty of low
01:27
clouds from rain and drizzle in places too. We will see some brighter skies, largely across
01:33
north-western parts of the Highlands into the Western Isles once more, perhaps the Northern
01:36
Isles at times too, in between showers. And southern parts of Wales into south-west England,
01:42
sunny spells and scattered showers here. But the wind's still feeding in from the North
01:47
Sea, so here a chilly feel along some eastern coasts, staying in single figures. Towards
01:53
the south-west, 12 or 13 Celsius in the best of any sunnier breaks in between those showers.
01:59
But add on the strength of that wind, it will feel quite cold there. Temperatures 2 to 5
02:04
degrees across some eastern areas, a little bit higher further south and west in those
02:08
sunnier breaks. As we head through the evening time on Sunday,
02:12
little change, a lot of cloud around, hill fog quite extensive across the country. Outbreaks
02:17
of light rain and drizzle. One or two clear spells across western areas during the early
02:21
hours but for the vast majority again, a cloudy night will keep temperatures from falling
02:26
too low, for most around 5 or 6 degrees taking us into Monday morning. But a grey damp start
02:33
once more, particularly down the eastern side of the country. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle
02:37
and then very little change as we go through Monday itself. There will be a few brighter
02:41
breaks developing across western Scotland, perhaps some coastal stretches of England
02:46
and Wales too. Northern Ireland, quite cloudy outbreaks of light rain here at times too.
02:51
And the wind is still coming in off the North Sea, so down these eastern coasts once again,
02:55
a little disappointing, 6, 7 degrees in places. In the best of any brightness, temperatures
03:00
up to around 11 or 12 degrees. So the cloud continues to be the main feature
03:05
over the next few days and through the week ahead as well. If you'd like more information
