00:28 A security guard of a school in Pasay was unable to catch the illegal drug's entrance and exit of one of their students earlier this morning.
00:37 56 sachets and 4 large plastic bags of marijuana were found on the security officers as they inspected the bag of one of their first year college students.
00:47 When I inspected her bag, I saw the pouch. There's something inside but I'm not sure. So I called back up at Shirabis because she took the bag.
01:01 They immediately asked for help from the NBI Task Force Against Illegal Drugs.
01:05 Aside from the plastic bags containing marijuana, there were also rolling papers and small bottles with the indication of illegal drugs that can be used.
01:16 The first year college student refused to give a statement. He was only 18 years old.
01:21 The school did not give a statement and asked them not to investigate. They said they will just let the NBI handle the case.
01:29 Right now we're planning to look into this, to go deeper. To determine if it's possible for further operation.
01:47 Because this was posted on campus, the students were not far from the suspect's parochial home.
01:52 The NBI said that the school's security personnel should have been there earlier.
01:59 I'm really grateful to them, to the school. Our school officials and security officers are doing their job to protect our kids.
02:11 One of the most difficult investigations is the inspection of marijuana to determine where it came from, what is its quality and how much it is worth.
02:20 For GMI Integrated News, I'm Rafi Tima.
02:24 There are 40,000 chickens and 1 dog in the WIH, in the burning that happened today.
02:32 Witness, Marizio Mali.
02:34 We were able to cry and cry, this woman.
02:40 In the middle of the night, she was left in the middle of the fire this morning in Tandansora Extension in Quezon City.
02:46 She was not only burned, her dog was also taken away with the victims.
02:53 The firefighters were unable to enter the area because of the roadside noise.
02:58 That's why the residents of the area first brought water to the fire.
03:03 The BFP responded to the fire in Macopa, Banaue in Barangay Santo Domingo, Quezon City.
03:11 The two fires were also investigated.
03:14 40,000 chickens were also found in a poultry farm, past 12 noon this afternoon in Iloilo.
03:21 The amount of marijuana is possible to reach 5 million pesos.
03:25 The BFP's investigation is still ongoing.
03:27 But some employees believe that the fire was caused by a broken line of electricity.
03:32 In the town of Pamplona, Camarines Sur, a bus company's motor pool was hit yesterday.
03:39 According to the BFP, the fire could have been caused by a fire.
03:44 According to the BFP, there are many possible reasons for the increase in incidents of fire,
03:48 including what El Nino is experiencing now.
03:50 In fact, the weather is not that hot.
03:53 People are not really caring.
03:55 They are really careful about the fire.
03:58 It's really organic.
04:00 It's not that safe.
04:02 Firefighters were rehearsing for the kick-off ceremony of Fire Prevention Month 2024 on March 1.
04:11 The firefighters behind me are doing what is called fire hydrant testing.
04:16 They are doing their part to prepare for possible fires.
04:20 They want to make sure that the pressure of the hydrant is enough to raise the water level in the fire truck.
04:28 Prior to the construction of the El Nino, we are pressuring the BFPNCR water processioners.
04:35 In case the hydrants run out of water, we can get them water.
04:41 They also installed fire hose cabinets in the barangay and they are now in the process of invading how to use these.
04:48 They also increased the fire truck and ambulance visibility to make it easier to respond.
04:53 For GMA Integrated News, I am Maris Umali, your witness.
04:58 Facing the Senate and the House of Representatives,
05:02 this is the advice of President Bongbong Marcos to Pastor Apollo Quibuloy among the initiates of the PINA.
05:08 Witness, Ivan Mayrina.
05:13 My advice for him is to just face the questioning in the House and in the Senate.
05:23 We should hear his side so we can know what is really happening here.
05:33 In the first instance, President Bongbong Marcos responded to Pastor Apollo Quibuloy's allegation that the President is trying to kill him.
05:43 The Senate is investigating the numerous cases of Pastor in America and the abuse of members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
05:51 President Quibuloy agreed to face the Senate and the House of Representatives, who both issued a subpoena for him.
05:57 No one wants to assassinate him. Why would he assassinate him?
06:03 What? Why would anyone want to do that?
06:10 Maybe he's just very, very... I don't understand what he's saying. Why would he assassinate him?
06:23 In the last hearing in the Senate, one of the former President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Sara Duterte visited Quibuloy.
06:30 Witness, Alias Rene said that when the father left, they have a bag containing different types of guns.
06:39 This allegation was answered by the former President last night.
06:42 We received a gun from Pastor Quibuloy. Do you think I should deliver him a cannon tomorrow?
06:52 It's a very stupid proposition. It's silly.
06:59 Why would the pastor give me a gun? Where would he get it from?
07:04 If he says he doesn't have a gun, I'll give it to him.
07:10 Duterte doesn't know where Quibuloy is. He said he's hiding for his own safety.
07:16 Quibuloy is not a subpoena fighter, said the former President.
07:21 It's not an order. You cannot order an ordinary citizen like me to compel me to report to you.
07:28 For what?
07:29 If I don't want.
07:30 But according to Senator Rizal Taveros, the chairperson of the Senate committee, he is a subpoena.
07:35 He is still keeping his promise that he will ask the Senate if he will not face a hearing on March 5.
07:41 He also said that he cannot do that because he is just a lawyer who came.
07:44 The committee assures Quibuloy as it has always assured any and all witnesses who came to us that they will have the chance to answer the questions.
07:58 There is no confirmation yet if Quibuloy will come or not.
08:02 For GMA Integrated News, Ivan Mejrina, your witness.
08:06 Approved by a group of workers who are being pushed to the camera, the minimum wage earners increased their salary.
08:14 But the NEDAT group of employers is worried about the possible effect of this on business and economy.
08:21 Witness, JP Soriano.
08:28 Earlier, a group of workers called for an increase in their salary marched on IBP Road in Quezon City.
08:34 They tried to approach the camera to hand over their position paper.
08:39 But the police stopped them after a few minutes of talking.
08:45 The protest was pushed by a PNP-spurred attempt that did not have a permit.
08:54 The police and the protesters were first to agree.
08:58 The protesters were just standing by for their program.
09:02 Like them, the minimum wage earner Julius also asked for an increase in his salary.
09:07 He insisted that he will be able to afford the needs of a barista who earns P610 per day in a coffee shop.
09:16 We need to increase our salary so that we can afford to buy things.
09:24 Earlier, we discussed with the House Committee on Labor and Employment the proposed laws that will increase the minimum wage earners' salary.
09:33 The proposed increase of P150 across the board is supported by a group of workers.
09:42 We will be able to lift 4 million minimum wage earners out of poverty through this legislation based on the poverty threshold.
09:52 The minimum wage in the Philippines is considered starvation wages.
09:56 What we mean is that the family of the worker cannot afford to pay the starvation wages.
10:05 But the group of employers said...
10:07 Its implementation without careful consideration of the consequent economic impact would do more harm than good.
10:15 The National Economic and Development Authority, ONEDA, also did not support the increase of the minimum wage across the board due to its effect on the economy.
10:24 The proposed bills could slow down GDP growth and could trigger job displacement and accelerate inflation.
10:34 At the same time, it could increase job informality given the higher cost of hiring workers in the formal sector.
10:43 So for those who will be legislated...
10:46 I just take refuge in the words of the people here. Careful, careful.
10:50 We always recognize the balancing of efforts, the needs of the workers, and also the capacity of our employers.
10:59 For GMA Integrated News, I am JP Soriano, your witness.
11:06 E-trike, e-bike, tricycle, and coleg-legal are prohibited from passing the 19 National Roads in Metro Manila starting April.
11:13 This is in accordance with the resolution of the Metro Manila Council.
11:16 These include the roads that run through Recto Avenue, Quirino Avenue, Ross Boulevard, and Taft Avenue in Manila.
11:22 Also in EDSA, Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City, and SLEX.
11:26 The resolution is different from the DILG Memorandum Circular 2023-195,
11:31 which prohibits tricycles, pedicabs, and motorized pedicabs from passing National Roads throughout the country.
11:38 Pesos will be charged P2,500 for the vehicles.
11:41 If the driver has no license, the vehicle will be impounded.
11:45 Local governments of Metro Manila will also pass their ordinances to say where it is prohibited and where the vehicles are allowed.
11:54 The government is investigating an illegal sale of NFA rides at a high price by the DA.
12:01 Based on the initial information, the NFA bought rice as rice for P23 and sold it as rice to traders for P25 without public bidding.
12:12 The government did not provide further details while the investigation is ongoing, but the NFA's mandate is clear.
12:20 According to the NFA, their mandate is to set aside and dispose of 99.9 percent of its stocks in a good and edible condition.
12:29 If their rice has expired for more than three months, it needs to be ground again, which is why there will be additional expenses.
12:36 To avoid this, the NFA can sell the rice at the highest mandated price to qualified commercial buyers on a first-come, first-served basis.
12:46 The rice held by the NFA is sold at a price of P25 per kilo.
12:51 The NFA's mandate is that the stock of rice should be disposed of by the current NFA management.
12:58 For GMA Integrated News, Joseph Morong is your witness.
13:01 The illegal sale of LPG tanks in Bulacan was reported. Four people were arrested.
13:08 Witness, John Consulta.
13:15 When the Mark Money was confirmed, the NBI under the Organized International Crime Division entered the LPG refilling station in Bulacan, Bulacan.
13:25 NBI, there is no movement.
13:28 The illegal refilling of the tank was caught on the spot by the establishment, not them.
13:34 The operation was stopped after a company complained about the illegal refilling of their tanks.
13:40 We saw on the surveillance that they are really refilling even if they are not a brand or even generic.
13:47 It is prohibited to refill a generic tank.
13:51 You should really refill the specific brand that you own.
13:57 According to the NBI, this is a very dangerous thing and this illegal refilling operation can lead to a fire.
14:04 This is a protection for the consumers. Only the brand that can refill should own the tank so that the refilling of the tank is correct.
14:12 Because if you refill it incorrectly, it will cause a fire, which is dangerous, especially now that the fire prevention month is coming.
14:22 The four people arrested in the operation are facing a lot of complaints. We are trying to get their statement.
14:30 For GMA, Indigenous Rebutes, John Consulta, your saksi.
14:36 Some people named the ice and white due to the frost.
14:42 It is expected that the effects of cold weather in Northern Luzon will continue until the weekend.
14:48 It is possible that the cold season will end in the first half of March, but it depends on the changes in its forecast.
14:56 Aside from the cold, the easterlies and troughs of the low-pressure area will also be affected.
15:00 According to the data of Metro Weather, there is a chance of rain tomorrow in Aurora, Quezon, Mindoro Provinces, Capiz, and Negros Occidental.
15:08 It will also rain in a large part of Mindanao.
15:12 It is possible that the heavy rain will be prepared in Bantanang Baha or Lanzlan.
15:16 The Manila International Airport Authority apologized following the complaint of some passengers in Naia who experienced frost and frostbite.
15:25 The reason is the frostbite on the seats.
15:29 Saksi, who is the culprit?
15:31 The passenger Chris was hit by a large frostbite on his legs.
15:39 He was not able to sit properly in the rotten furniture in the arrival area of Naia Terminal 2 this Friday.
15:46 He posted the pictures on social media to serve as a warning to other passengers.
15:52 He was admitted to the terminal clinic.
15:55 Chris was convinced by a registered nurse that the frostbite was not an allergic reaction but a frostbite.
16:03 On February 9, while his cousin was being hospitalized, Chrisel was made to sit on the metal bench of Naia Terminal 2.
16:14 Here, he noticed that his eyebrows were a bit crooked and when he arrived home, he noticed large and small frowns on his skin.
16:25 There was something like someone was walking or frowning.
16:30 Then I thought that there might be hair.
16:32 At night, when we arrived in the province, I said that there was someone frowning.
16:37 I stepped on it. There was a big frown.
16:39 The next day, it was just small frowns but there were so many.
16:44 Maybe the cleanliness is not enough now. It should be removed.
16:48 The frostbite or bedbugs are parasitic insects that live in dark and narrow spaces like the corners of the bed and sofa.
16:57 Although they can live longer in fabrics or wood materials, they can also live in steel.
17:03 They suck the blood of their prey and although it does not spread diseases, it causes severe skin irritation.
17:14 The spread of frostbite in hotels in Paris, France and Hong Kong and Korea was recently reported.
17:21 The Manila International Airport Authority or MIAA asked for a pardon for the two complainants.
17:28 The complainants were told to pull out the chairs.
17:32 The terminal managers who investigated the incident and carried out a thorough inspection and cleaned the facilities were also arrested.
17:42 For GMA Integrated News, Chino Gascon is your witness.
17:46 President Bambang Marcos is in Canberra, Australia for his appearance in the Australian Parliament.
17:54 At 4 p.m. in the Philippines, President Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos arrived.
18:02 They were joined by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
18:06 According to President Marcos, aside from the election and the assembly,
18:11 he also gave the Australian Parliament the responsibility of the two countries in defense and security.
18:17 The two countries agreed on the signed agreement between the Philippines and Australia.
18:24 Some parts of Texas are on fire in America.
18:27 Many residents were evacuated and the affected roads were also closed.
18:32 In one part of the region, firefighters blocked the road that was almost covered with smoke and fire.
18:39 According to the authorities, more than 100,000 hectares were hit by wildfires, which was believed to have exploded due to the hot weather.
18:47 In the aftermath of the wildfire, an operation of a U.S. nuclear weapon plant was temporarily stopped, which is only 30 kilometers away from the fire.
18:55 It also returned to operation and according to the authorities, it is now considered the fifth largest wildfire in the history of Texas.
