Hurt is real
It's not the same as the stinging of a bee
Or the singeing of hot tea
But of the tightness in your heart
You feel it right at the start
Every word takes another blow
You'll feel the need to run and go
But your feet will betray you
You'll stay in place
Hopefully they don't see the tears on your face
You must stand there, choosing not to feel
