00:00 The Cowboys are one and three in the playoffs under head coach Mike McCarthy.
00:05 However, the grass is not always greener and
00:08 it's not always as simple as a knee jerk reaction.
00:11 Change for the sake of change is not always good.
00:14 However, there are arguments to be made on both sides of this.
00:18 What are your pros and cons when it comes to keeping McCarthy or maybe not?
00:23 >> Yeah, some things are relative, Jason Garrett, friend of the show,
00:27 they were perennially almost good.
00:29 They went eight and eight a lot.
00:32 They make the change to Mike McCarthy and after the COVID year,
00:35 he goes 12 and five, 12 and five, and 12 and five.
00:37 That is something.
00:38 >> Yeah. >> That you do wanna be careful before
00:40 you throw that in the trash can.
00:42 So even if you're not a McCarthy guy, and I know many in the media decided when he
00:46 first got here, they decided they weren't gonna be Mark McCarthy guys for
00:49 whatever reason.
00:50 You do have to be prepared no matter what you do.
00:54 You can bring the best coach in the history of the world in here,
00:56 who even had guarantees, it's still gonna be a change.
00:59 You're gonna run a different offense, you run the same offense,
01:02 you're gonna teach players to do, it'll be a change.
01:04 >> And what change out there is better than what you already have.
01:07 >> That's one of the problems.
01:08 I'm seeing everybody say, well, clearly Belichick's better.
01:11 Clearly Harbaugh's better.
01:14 I'm sorry to break this to you.
01:16 There is no such thing as clearly.
01:17 >> No. >> There is no guarantee.
01:19 >> I agree 100%.
01:20 >> If Bill Belichick was clearly better than the next coach, McCarthy or
01:26 whomever, why is he available?
01:28 >> [LAUGH] >> Right?
01:29 >> Why does he have a job?
01:30 >> He hasn't been, they haven't done well in New England in five years.
01:34 >> Right.
01:35 >> So I think that that was the worst offense in football in New England this
01:38 year with Aziz Dalia playing there, and maybe the worst team in football.
01:43 And Bill Belichick built it.
01:45 >> Right.
01:46 >> And now he's somehow infallible.
01:49 So I think that's all part of the pro McCarthy, just as you say,
01:54 the grass is not always greener.
01:55 The next coach isn't always better than the last coach, no matter how disgruntled
01:58 or upset or bothered you are by the results with this coach.
02:02 >> Mm-hm.
