00:08 Just overall thoughts on ending it up this way.
00:12 Obviously disappointing. You know, we want to send the seniors off right.
00:18 But Missouri had a great game plan. They fought really hard and they played great.
00:29 Good, yeah, it'll be good. I kind of like got it smashed on
00:33 in between helmets so we'll see.
00:36 Josh, as I've seen the first extent of playing time with Kobe got what
00:43 was he like in the huddle? How do you think he handled everything?
00:45 I'm definitely with maturity employees. He he came in in an unfortunate situation
00:51 and he handed himself very well and did his best. He could delete us.
00:57 What do you do? I know it's tough sledding, but there's a great defense.
01:00 What do you do that impressed you?
01:02 Just he kept us motivated on the sideline. He always after every drive he'd come over and
01:08 we talked through pretty much every play with them. Just what we were seeing versus what he
01:12 was seeing and how we could execute better in the next drive.
01:15 And it makes both you guys probably that CKJ get hurt like that. And if this is his last game here,
01:22 you know, you know, not really get the harvest.
01:26 It's disappointing to see any of our teammates get hurt, knowing how much effort and and how
01:31 much they desire to play this game for anything to prevent them from doing that. Definitely hurts us.
01:36 Yeah, sounds just it's sad to see. He was the leader and so definitely sad to see, but
01:45 he'll bounce back.
01:47 Yeah, projecting the next year, Sam said getting some alignment help is one of the big priorities
01:54 in the office. You maybe talk about how next year projects and yeah, I mean, after a disappointing
02:00 day like this, we have to we have to change something. We have to do better.
02:03 I mean, that's the short answer. If we want to have any success next year, it starts with the
02:08 opposite. We didn't put as an offensive line this year, we didn't put our options in good
02:13 situations to be successful. And that put a lot of stress on our defense and special teams.
02:17 So definitely something needs to change and we need to take it upon ourselves to get better
02:23 every day this offseason so that next year we can have success.
02:26 So 20 to nothing at halftime, but then they get the strip sack touchdown,
02:32 fumble kickoff touchdown. How tough was that to fight through after it was within range at
02:37 halftime? Yeah, it's tough anytime you get put in that situation. But when we go out there,
02:44 it doesn't matter where the ball gets placed, we got to be able to fight and
02:49 try to get the ball back for our options. And so
02:51 you just got to have that mindset going in every drive.
02:55 People have a good start to the season and then the last four games just hasn't quite
03:02 kind of matched. What is any work from your vantage point maybe change with the defense
03:06 and kind of led to the struggles to kind of close the season? I don't know if anything changed. I
03:11 think we just got to come out every game and fight hard and not to let the last couple games
03:20 take away what we did during the season. I know that fight involved the line and the
03:27 flip the practice where you called it broke out in the second quarter. Were you on the field then?
03:31 And if so, what was your vantage point? Just kind of what? Yeah, I was kind of I was guarding
03:36 somebody and then I turned around and there was a big brawl. I think it was rivalry game. It got
03:40 shifty. We hit their quarterback out of bounds and so they took it to the next play and got one
03:47 of our guys. So I think it was just a shifty rivalry game. Tough guys out there. I just
03:54 wanted to know what your thoughts were and I don't know if you got to watch much of what they
03:57 were talking to coaches or whatever, but if you had any thoughts on how he played today and maybe
04:01 even though it was a rough game, I could help him moving forward. Yeah, I thought he played
04:06 great in the fourth quarter. He was mature. He came out, stepped up and so I think going to next
04:14 year, I mean with him or whoever, I think he's going to bring that same offense. He's got that
04:20 maturity. He's old enough and he knows what he's doing. He didn't win the game, did beat Florida,
04:30 but didn't win the game. But what happened in Fayetteville? What do you think happened here?
04:33 Because the Mississippi State, Auburn and today, it just seems like it should be the other way
04:38 around, but very good to get some great things on the road. I'm not quite sure, to be honest with
04:44 you. That's something that we need to figure out this offseason so we can fix it for next year,
04:48 because we have some tough home opponents next year that we need to be on our head again,
04:53 basically for every week. I know earlier in the week you said you're focused on the Missouri game,
04:59 but you do have that extra year. What's the timeline look like for that? What goes into
05:03 that decision process? I'm not really sure. I'm going to kind of sit on this game for a while and
05:08 then go back to my family and talk with them and see what's best for me going forward. Josh,
05:16 you've been talking about next year. I mean, are you planning on coming back next year? Have you
05:19 made that decision? I mean, that's the plan as it is. I told us just a few minutes ago, he's the man
05:26 to get this program turned around. Y'all's thoughts from the locker room about him and the
05:30 leadership? He is 100% the man to get this job done. I mean, he's one of the main reasons I came
05:37 here. Playing for a head coach that was also an offensive line coach is something special,
05:42 in my opinion, as an offensive lineman. But just who he is as a person who cares deeply for the
05:47 players, and that's something that you don't really see in the college football world today.
05:51 I mean, I think every player in that locker room loves playing for Coach Kirkman and wouldn't have
05:58 it if he never will. Yeah, I mean, I don't think anybody would rather have a different coach. He
06:04 loves the players, the program, and state. So, I mean, he breathes Arkansas. Josh,
06:11 what Sam was saying prior, pretty quick timeline on getting an offensive coordinator in there with
06:15 no guys being able to go to play this Friday. As an offensive player, I guess, how excited or
06:20 anxious or whatever are you to see about the offensive coordinator hire and how important
06:26 you think that is to you guys? Obviously, it's a big job, so it's important. But in my college
06:32 career, I've played for three, four different office coordinators. So, it's something I'm used
06:39 to just changing coordinators. So, I'm excited to see the new take on things and the new lingo we're
06:44 going to use and what plays we're going to run. So, it's definitely exciting. Pretty salty on
06:50 defense last year and then this year, obviously. What made them tough today on defense?
06:55 I'd say they just played really sound defense. Everyone played their responsibilities and played
07:07 it well. They used their hands extremely well and that gives them the opportunity to shed blocks and
07:14 make plays. They definitely had us figured out in the first half and we weren't able to get
07:18 something going. That's just something we need to work on and get better at.
