00:00 Next up we have the Nissan Xterra Off-Road Package Sporting an all-aluminum 4.0L V6.
00:18 In fact, it's the most powerful non-V8 vehicle we have in our competition with 261 horsepower
00:25 and 281 foot-pounds of torque.
00:28 The four-wheel drive system, not the most sophisticated, but does get the job done.
00:33 It falls somewhere in between the Land Rover LR2 and the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.
00:39 It does offer a rear locking differential.
00:41 It does have a pretty smart traction control system that works in four high range.
00:46 It is also able to run in two-wheel drive mode.
00:50 This vehicle is a very good all-around competitor.
00:53 Did very well on the long drives that we did during our three and four-day test procedures.
00:59 Also did very well on the extreme trail driving that we did.
01:03 Hot temperatures, high winds, sand dunes, hill climbs.
01:07 This vehicle has something for every one of those tasks that we threw at it.
01:12 Good visibility, a big wheel and tire package, a very strong approach and departure angle
01:17 makes this vehicle a strong competitor in this competition.
01:20 But it does have its weaknesses.
01:21 It does get blown around quite a bit in the wind, which we found out during some gale
01:25 force winds we discovered when we were riding on the sand dunes.
01:29 Beyond that, this looks like it's going to do very well in the competition.
01:33 I can't exactly say where it's going to finish, but because this vehicle does very well overall
01:39 and it did exceptionally well in some of the extreme trail driving that we did, this is
01:44 a vehicle I think is going to score very well with the judges.
