Miroslav Levora Jr. & Pavla Třebínová's Fatal Crash @ Horácká Rally Třebíč 2008 (Aftermath)

The small town of Třebíč in Vysočina region, southern Czech Republic, hosted the 19th edition of the Horácká Rally Třebíč, from 19 to 21 June 2008. The event, which was a round of both the European and Czech rally championships, was marred by a horrific accident that claimed the lives of two contestant.
It happened on the final day of the rally, Saturday, 21 June 2008, during the 13th special stage "Brtnice - Kamenička 2". The #47 Škoda Fabia, reg. plate number 10R-0021, driven by Miroslav Levora, Jr., with Pavla Třebínová as co-driver, went off the road just after a jump and hit the tree at high speed.
The right side of the car took the full force of the impact and Třebínová was killed almost immediately. An experienced rally navigator, she was daughter of well-known Czech rally driver Petr Třebín. She was 26 years old and had joined Levora in 2007.
Despite the efforts of the rescuers who tried to resuscitate him, Miroslav Levora, 23-year-old, died about 20 minutes later. He was the son of one of the prominent rally drivers in his country, Miroslav Levora, Sr. who mainly competed at the wheel of Škoda machinery since the mid-1970s.
Owing to the tragedy, the rally was suspended and the 15th and final special stage was cancelled. Václav Pech, Jr.-Petr Uhel in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX, who were in the lead, were declared winners of the rally.
