00:00 You guys, it is time to draw those curtains, double check those locks, and get ready for
00:05 a spine-tingling sequel to one of the most unnerving movies to touch our screens.
00:11 Brightburn is back, and this time it's bringing some friends with it.
00:15 So as exciting as it is, let's not waste another minute and dive right in for all the
00:21 related details and available insight by the movie's directors.
00:26 In 2019, Brightburn took us on a terrifying journey while presenting a troubling question,
00:32 what if someone with the great powers of Superman did not choose to be a hero, but rather adopted
00:38 a darker, more malicious path instead?
00:42 For one, the movie had a respectable amount of success, grossing over $32 million, which
00:47 left many people thinking how much better it could have been with a little bit more
00:52 polish.
00:53 And as it turns out, the time spent waiting for a second opportunity has finally come
00:58 to an end, because Brightburn 2 is now officially under development.
01:02 You heard that absolutely right.
01:05 Fast forward to September 2023, and we now have an update on the long-awaited sequel.
01:10 The H Collective, the production team that was responsible for Brightburn, just made
01:15 an announcement stating that work on Brightburn 2 is still very much ongoing.
01:20 Of course, fans have been given renewed hope for a return to the scary world of Brightburn
01:25 after hearing this thrilling news, which was revealed by Mark Rau and Kent Huang, two of
01:30 the driving forces behind the H Collective.
01:34 According to one of the fans, #Brightburn2 is in development, been waiting a long time
01:39 to hear that.
01:40 Now, in terms of the storyline, the first movie left us with a brief but intriguing
01:44 hint of what might take place in the sequel.
01:47 So if you remember, during the sequence that played after the credits, we were introduced
01:51 to a conspiracy theorist by the name of Big T, who said that Brightburn was not the only
01:56 metahuman serial killer on Earth.
01:59 During that, he also spoke about a sea creature that was only partially human and was responsible
02:04 for the sinking of ships, as well as a witch who tortured her victims with a lethal rope
02:09 to extract the truth from them.
02:12 Of course, there is still a lot of mystery surrounding this rope, but in Brightburn 2,
02:16 we should be able to find the answers we need.
02:19 Then again, many people have ideas about what will happen in the second installment of the
02:23 series.
02:24 For one, will Brandon, our nefarious protagonist with superpowers, could join forces with these
02:30 metahumans to build an organization that is the hostile equivalent of the Justice League?
02:36 Or is it more likely that he will come into conflict with them since his mission to "take
02:41 the world" will be hampered by their presence?
02:44 There is a sense of excitement surrounding the possibilities, so who knows what could
02:48 happen?
02:49 With that being out of the way, solving the casting puzzle is going to be a little more
02:54 challenging as well this time around, mainly because the majority of the Breyer family
02:59 met a terrible end at Brandon's hands as a result of the events that occurred in Brightburn.
03:04 There is also a possibility that Jackson A. Dunn will reprise his part as Brandon Breyer,
03:10 but if the movie delves into an older version of Brandon, a different actor may take over
03:15 for any flashback scenes that are included.
03:17 Meanwhile, Elizabeth Banks and David Denman, who previously portrayed Brandon's tragic
03:22 parents, could also make a comeback in some capacity.
03:25 So there's that.
03:27 Not to forget, the character of Big T, played by Michael Rooker, might make a comeback and
03:32 continue his investigation into the world of wicked metahumans.
03:36 At the same time, this also leads us to the exciting idea that the evil metahumans he
03:41 referenced, such as a malicious Aquaman and Wonder Woman, may also make their debut in
03:47 an evil manner, forming an evil equivalent to the classic Justice League.
03:52 Just imagine, if all that were to happen, we can already see Brightburn 2 as a blockbuster.
03:58 But given James Gunn's packed schedule working on the reinvented DC Universe and other planned
04:04 DC projects, there has been no confirmation regarding the release date of the film.
04:08 Though as per reports, after the release of Superman Legacy, which will star David Cornsweat
04:14 in the role of the future Superman and is scheduled for May 11, 2025, we might get some
04:20 new information about Brightburn 2.
04:22 So hang in there!
04:23 And even though we do not yet have a trailer or teaser for Brightburn 2, one thing is clear
04:28 about the upcoming film.
04:30 It will be larger, scarier, and much more stomach-churning than the previous installment.
