00:00 We've watched all the games from the beginning of the tournament, from the knockouts, everything.
00:07 We watched the Euros as well, so we got into it last year watching the women's Euros and
00:11 we're behind our lionesses, aren't we? And he actually agrees that women can play football
00:16 now, don't you?
00:17 We've made a lot of progress.
00:19 We should have won, shouldn't we?
00:20 We should have won. We should have had better, like, striking and going up forward.
00:27 I'm a bit sad, but I'm also really proud because they made it all the way to the World Cup
00:36 final.
00:37 It's fantastic to see that women's football is getting a bigger platform, really. All
00:44 in all, from my opinion, it seems to be more, I don't know what the word is, wholesome,
00:50 maybe? So there's not quite as much aggression, which is actually quite nice when you're trying
00:53 to bring your kids up and watch football without so much of the nasty side effects.
00:57 I've been actually quite invested in this. I have a little sister who plays football
01:01 completely into it, watched all of the England games. It is just a complete shame. For the
01:08 Euros before and then this, it would have been perfect to complete the women's England
01:13 football getting back up.
01:15 It is. It's really sad. We had a victory dance prepared. We were so hyped for the win. It
01:20 is just sad because it would have meant a lot for women's football for us to get this.
01:23 But, you know, second place is still a good place to be.
01:26 I really liked it, but I still like Spain. I wish England won. Spain did good, but I
01:35 just wish England won. It was sad that we didn't win, but there's always next year.
01:41 I've been following the England team. The girls are really strong and they make some
01:47 wise decisions, but unfortunately I guess they didn't head it completely together this
01:53 year. We were on the edge of our seat when we almost scored a goal. It was so close,
02:01 man. It was so close. It didn't win and we didn't score. What was heartbreaking,
02:08 though, was when Spain came back and scored, man. She couldn't have stopped it. She couldn't
02:15 have stopped the goal, man.
02:16 England won last time in the Euros last year and we were really proud of them then.
02:22 They're still a great team, but they've got great sportsmanship.
02:25 They are, yeah.
02:26 When Mary saved the penalty, it gave England a bit of a lift. Everyone was like, "Woo,
02:31 yeah!" back into action. I think that was probably the highlight of today since we didn't
02:35 score any goals. I think generally, as sad as I am to admit it, Spain were the better
02:41 team. I think England were a bit scrappy. They didn't seem like they had much of a
02:45 plan. So, congratulations, Spain. I'm gutted, but it is what it is.
02:50 Yeah. Spain held on and they pushed for the injury time. They got given the injury time
02:56 and then they stayed on the floor even longer. It worked out well for them, I think.
03:00 I think we would have done the same.
03:02 (thunder rumbling)
