In the US, The Bear, FX’s chef drama starring Jeremy Allen White, was one of the breakout shows of the year. When it dropped in June last year it was met with rave reviews from critics and fans alike. But somehow, even though it was released on the UK’s Disney+ six months later, it remained one of telly’s best-kept secrets. Those in the know, knew. But for many, the drama-comedy created by Christopher Storer passed them by.All that has changed this month with the UK release of The Bear’s second series, with the favourable reviews about the show, once again, pouring in and people are really beginning to take notice. “Deeper and richer than the already extraordinary first season, if The Bear were a restaurant, Michelin would have awarded it all three stars,” said The Standard.
