What’s on Wales: Hay festival returns

  • last year
The Hay on Wye festival is one of the jewels in the Welsh cultural crown, and every year attracts hundreds of thousands of guests from across the world, hoping to spot all manner of celebs. This year will feature Stormzy, Dua Lipa, the Proclaimers and so many literary greats like Margaret Atwood. There are hundreds of talks and performances taking place across the town, from the 25th May until the 4th of June.

The Viva PT Port Talbot food festival will be taking over the town, with a whole host of culinary delights for everyone’s tastebuds. It will be the town’s first ever food festival, as they have a number of artisan stalls across the centre, with cooking workshops and street food on offer, and there will even be some live music to keep you entertained as you chow down on Port Talbot’s finest. Taking place on Saturday 13th May.

This one is definitely not for the faint hearted. Llanrwst in North Wales will host the start and finish line of this years Eryri Snowdonia Half Marathon, it’s the first since the National Park officially changed its name, and is said to be one of the hardest half marathons anywhere in the UK. It hasn’t taken place since before covid when over 800 runners took part, so expect a busy day with an incredible backdrop, taking place on the 14th May.
