In this video, we take a look at the efforts of Coastal, Environmental, and Fisheries (CEF) organization and their efforts to reduce marine waste.
Focusing on community empowerment, education, and environmental sustainability in coastal areas, they foster women who own processed fish products to be assisted in packaging, licensing, and marketing. In addition to running Conservation Education projects.
With the main issue being trash in the ocean, CEF created a Trash trap with initial funding from the Pertamina Muda Foundation. This is designed to remove large amounts of trash from the ocean and keep it clear. Two months after being installed they were able to dispel about 10 tons of garbage that would enter the ocean.
