Taking inspiration from a Legoland staple, Chef Kalel Chan shares his take on apple fries that's bound to be a hit with the entire family.
INGREDIENTS For the fries - lemon - bowl of water - green apples - cornstarch - cinnamon powder
For the sauce - melted vanilla ice cream - cinnamon powder
DIRECTIONS - Cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice out of it - Mix it in the bowl of water. This is to ensure that the apples won't oxidize and turn brown - Peel the green apples and submerge in the bowl of lemon water - Cut the apples the way one would cut fries, and put the slices back in lemon water - Dip the slices into a mixture of cornstarch and cinnamon, then deep-fry at 165 degrees Celsius for 2-3 minutes or until crispy outside - Drizzle with powdered sugar - For the sauce, melt a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream and top with cinnamon powder
