Everyday Communalism: How a 7-year-old and her Father Became the Victims of a Neighborhood Tussle

The video of an e-rikshaw driver, Afsar Ahmad, being beaten and paraded as his daughter clung to him went viral in August last year. The Quint visited Afsar in Kanpur, to find that he became an "unfortunate victim" of a neighborhood tussle that had nothing to do with him.

This is part of The Quint's series titled 'Everyday Communalism' where we bring stories that capture the trend of minor disputes and petty tussles blown out of proportion to create a constant climate of communal tension and hate.
