Deepika Kumari held her nerves in a fiercely-fought Round of 16 contest in the Women’s Individual Archery to qualify for the quarter-finals. She defeated Ksenia Perova who was seeded 8th, 6-5 after a nerve-wracking shoot-off. Deepika Kumari seeded 9th had a comfortable day as she won her first two rounds but against Perova she had overcome a late comeback from the ROC's archer.
