Embracing a Spirit of Fortitude

“God sent you to see my struggle and rescue me from this desperate situation,” said Helen after receiving aid from Fatima Palliative Care Centre (FPCC), in India.
Helen resides in a thatched hut along the seashore on unclaimed land, with her ailing husband, aged father-in-law, and school-going son. Her Husband, Ouseph, is diagnosed with epilepsy, and cerebrovascular accident (CVA); he was paralyzed on one side for a period of time. Luckily, he was able to recover and is now able to walk and care for himself. He requires regular medical consultations for his ailment, and is on daily medication which costs about 4,000 Rupees (SGD 74) per month. Due to COVID-19, Helen, the sole breadwinner, lost her job and found it very hard to provide food, necessities, and medicine for the family.
Through the Canossian sisters from FPCC, CHARIS has been able to reach out and support Helen and her family with food, and a regular medication supply for Ouseph.
Much more can be done to reach the countless other people in similar predicaments as Helen, living in vulnerable communities overseas. We need your prayers & financial support to ensure the continued aid and assistance to alleviate their burden.
