Top US envoy urges India to immediately release J&K leaders detained without charge

Top US envoy Alice Wells, who recently visited New Delhi, said her visit offered an opportunity to hear more on developments the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) as she urged the Centre for "immediate release of political leaders detained without charge in Kashmir" post the abrogation of Article 370.Foreign diplomats from 15 countries had visited Jammu and Kashmir earlier this month for the first time since the central government revoked the state's special status in August and changed it to a union territory.
