From the 80's Channel 4 TV show 'The Unforgettables'
The Merseybeats formed in Liverpool and well represent early-'60s British rock & roll, however they were unable to make much of a dent in the United States. In the 1963, The Merseybeats debuted with their first song "It's Love That Really Counts."
Wishin` And Hopin` was released in 1964 and reached No. 13 in the UK charts. In the same year it was also a top 10 hit for Dusty Springfield
