Delhi court issues NBW against Raj Thackeray for hate speech - NewsX

A Delhi court has revived a non-bailable warrant against Raj Thackeray that was issued in 2008 by a Jamshedpur court. This is now in addition to the case Delhi Police has filed against the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief for allegedly describing migrants from Bihar as "infiltrators" in Mumbai. At a speech on August 31, Thackeray had threatened to force them out of Maharashtra. A Delhi court had ordered that an FIR be filed. The 2008 non-bailable warrant -- or an arrest warrant - was issued against Thackeray for calling the north Indian, largely Bihari, festival of Chhatth a "drama" and "hurting the religious sentiments of north Indians". That warrant was not executed by the Mumbai Police.
