Govt to foot Mandera attack victims' KNH bill - Mailu

Health Cabinet Secretary Cleopa Mailu says the two victims who were shot while shielding their fellow passengers in a bus during a Mandera terror attack are receiving treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital. While refuting claims on social media that the administrators at KNH had threatened to kick them out over unpaid deposit, the health CS added that the government will foot the entire bill.
“The issue which has been going around in the social media that the Kenyatta National Hospital wants to switch off the machines is far from the truth and we have come together in times of disaster, to support the victims and deal with other issues later. Irrespective of the status of the two patients, the government will foot the bill,” he said.
