34 girls of Pune orphanage hospitalised after food poisoning

34 girls of an orphanage home in Pune’s Talegaon Dabhade were rushed to a hospital after they complained of stomach ache and vomiting on September 03. They underwent treatment for food poisoning. The Medical Superintendent informed that 23 girls were discharged immediately after treatment and 11 have been admitted. Ranging in age from five to 15 years, the children were rushed to Talegaon General Hospital for treatment. Of them, 23 were discharged on Tuesday morning, while 11 are still under observation; however, doctors have assured that they are in a stable condition. Meanwhile, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has taken the food samples and sent them to the government laboratory in Pune, even as Talegaon Dabhade police have registered a medico-legal case.
