Guatemala volcano: Official search and rescue operation suspended as death toll hits 100

Guatemala's national disaster agency says it is suspending search efforts in areas devastated by the eruption of the Fuego volcano, the death toll of which now stands at 100.
The agency said Thursday that conditions are too dangerous for rescue workers to continue their search for survivors.
Nearly 200 people are still missing
The announcement angered residents, some of whom took matters into their own hands by conducting their own search operation in the lava-ravaged area.
Meanwhile, Guatemala's public prosecutor said it's opening an investigation into whether evacuation protocols were followed properly in Sunday's eruption, which caught many residents off guard with little time to evacuate.
