Trump: US 'Wouldn't Be Thinking About' Going To Mars If Hillary Won

President Trump on Tuesday took credit for the current efforts to send a manned mission to Mars.

President Trump slammed Hillary Clinton on Tuesday over the potential manned Mars mission.
Her name came up during Trump's address to the military members in San Diego.
"We are finally going to lead again. You see the rockets going up left and right. You haven't seen that for a long time," Trump said about the nation's space initiatives.
"Very soon, we're going to Mars. We wouldn't have been going to Mars if my opponent won. That I can tell you, you wouldn't even be thinking about it," Trump added.
The president's remark perplexed many considering NASA has been planning such a mission for years, and he didn't explain why Clinton would have been an impediment to that endeavor.
After more than a year since his victory in the 2016 election, Trump has continued to target Clinton in his public remarks and tweets.
Last month, the president posted a tweet citing a Fox News segment.
"'He's got a very good point. Somebody in the Justice Department has a treasure trove of evidence of Mrs. Clinton's criminality at her own hands, or through others, that ought to be investigated. I fully agree with the President on that.' @judgenapolitano on @marthamaccallum Show," Trump wrote on Twitter.
During his recent address at the Conservative Political Action Conference, the crowd even brought back Trump campaign's "lock her up" chant when the president mentioned "crooked" candidate, in an apparent reference to Clinton.
"Boy, have they committed a lot of atrocities when you look," Trump said amid the chant. "Have they done things that are wrong."
