VTR: How can people's prejudices be overcome?
ADNAN OKTAR: How can people's prejudices be overcome? Sometimes, prejudices can be plausible. For example, if a person is a member of the PKK, of course one would hold a prejudice against him. But sometimes, prejudices reach disastrous. Many people face unfair prejudice. Prejudices are manifestations of people's envious and sadistic spirits that suffers from a lack of love, compassion, mercy, manners, culture, and kindness. So what should be done? People need to be instilled with a love and fear of God; and to instill these notions in them, they should be reminded of and their attentions should be called to God's miracles and marvelous creations. God should be mentioned at every turn. If everyone loves God, they will love each other as well. If people do not love God, then they will not loveothers. It is impossible to love one another without loving God. And when that is the case, all kinds of prejudices plague the mankind. For example, scores of people bear hatred for the leader of CHP [main opponent party of Turkey]. There are also many people who bear hatred and have prejudices against our President, Mr. Erdoğan. The same can be said about the Felicity Party [SA]. MHP and its youth branch have always faced hatred since my younger years. But these are saintly people. People just do not get to know them and cling to their prejudices against them. They merely based their opinion of these people on hearsay. This is wrong; people should shed their prejudices and appraise people rationally. Another point is that, people are capable of making good decisions on their own, but when in crowds, they come under the influence of a mob mentality. People should resist this influence and make their decisions on their own; they should aspire to have noble, upstanding characters. Unprincipled people always fall in line with the mob. If the mob is lynching someone, they follow suit. If the mob is fond of someone and say good things about him, then they too accept it at face value. This is not how it should be. There should be more people with strong characters.
