Mormons pull teens out of the Boy Scouts of America

The Mormon church is pulling 130,000 teenagers out of the Boy Scouts of America. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said that older Mormon teens will not be a part of their “Varsity” and “Venturing” program. According to the Church's officials, the program conflicted with the religion. The Church said in a statement Mormon officials made it clear that the decision was not made over the 2015 policy that allows gay men to be troop leaders, even if the church opposes homosexual relationships. The loss is only a tiny portion of the 2.3 million people in the Boy Scouts of America.
