Pope Francis open to allowing married priests in Catholic Church
  • 7 years ago
Pope Francis says that The Catholic church must look into the possibility of allowing married men to become ordained priests. In an interview with Germany’s Die Zeit newspaper published this week, the pope said the church should study whether so-called “viri probati” – or married men of proven faith – could be ordained as an answer to the shortage of priests around the world. Francis, however, pointed out that single men who are already priests would not be allowed to marry.
