Hot red chili peppers can help you live longer, study says

If you want to live longer, you might want to try and eat some hot red chili peppers. A new study from the University of Vermont suggests a possible correlation between people who ate hot red chili peppers and those who were less likely to die from stroke or heart attacks. The study followed over 16,000 participants over 23 years and found that pepper eaters would trend towards lower HDL cholesterol and total cholesterol. Despite the statistical correlation, the study goes out of its way to avoid drawing any conclusions about the peppers prolonging life.
