Support staff at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport are planning to go on strike shortly after Thanksgiving. The workers, which include aircraft cabin cleaners and janitors, will go on strike Nov. 29, the Wall Street Journal reports. Hundreds will walk off the job, according to the Service Employees International Union Local 1 in a statement, and the strike could soon extend to "nearly 20 airports serving 2 million passengers a day.” Over 27 million people are expected to travel via plane over the Thanksgiving holiday. Both United and American airlines have already begun developing contingency plans.
