School shooting: two girls found dead from gunshot wounds at high school

GLENDALE, ARIZONA — A local high school in a Phoenix-area suburb was the site of a disturbing and bloody scene Friday morning, with two girls found dead and police still working to figure out what may have happened.
Shortly before 8 a.m., gunshots were heard in the school's surrounding neighbourhood. Police responded to a call at Independence High School. They rushed over to an area near an administrative building, to find two 15-year-old girls, lying dead on the ground under a covered patio.
The names of the girls have not yet been released. Police have yet to determine what may have led to the shooting, but a gun was found near their bodies.
Two possible scenarios being investigated are either one of the girls shot her friend, and then shot herself, or, that the girls each shot themselves dead, one after the other, in a potential double suicide.
Police are not searching for any suspects at this time.
