Nantes 1900 (EN)

  • il y a 8 ans
For the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris, the chamber of commerce ordered a scale-model of the port to demonstrate the qualities and dynamism of Nantes’ relationship to the sea. This model is over 9 metres (30 ft.) long and 1.85 metres (6 ft.) wide, and now sits in room 21.
The museum decided to add a touch of science to this object by creating a multi-touch device allowing multiple users to question and understand the 3D relief map. When selecting a building on the scalemodel, the visitor is given access to pictures, texts and videos about the purpose of this building, its activity and its evolution throughout the 20th century. The database will be regularly updated.
