Cheenu (Navdeep) and Lakshmi (Sheela) study in the same school and fall in love. Her brother-in-law Prithviraj lusts after her and even tries to rape her in front of Cheenu. Somehow the lovers escape and seek protection from Collector Suhasini. She advices them to finish their studies before thinking about the marriage.
