Israel Outlaws Islamic Movement, Provoking Solidarity Protests in Gaza

On Tuesday the Israel Security cabinet outlawed the Islamic Movement, which operates among Palestinians living within the 1948 borders. The move sparked solidarity demonstrations in the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian factions there reject the division of the Palestinian population into those residing within the 1948 borders, those living in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem (where the latest clashes have occurred), and those in the besieged enclave of the Gaza Strip.
