2016 Triumph Tiger Explorer Uncovered In Spy Photos

THIS is the revised Triumph Tiger Explorer, spotted undergoing tests this week in Barcelona.

The spy shot shows Triumph’s big adventure model has been given styling tweaks plus new forks, wheels and brakes.

New forks carry radial mounted Brembo brake calipers, a feature already found on BMW’s R1200GS, instead of the current Tiger Explorer’s Nissins.

The updated 1215cc triple Triumph was being tested alongside an R1200GS with BMW’s Electronic Suspension Adjustment. That could point to the Explorer getting the Triumph Electronic Suspension system currently found on the British manufacturer's big tourer, the Trophy.

Front and rear wheels are new, with a revised spoke arrangement.

The photographer who took the spy shot said riders also appeared to be testing throttle response, suggesting engine or fuel map changes.

He said: ‘They were comparing the Tiger Explorer and R1200GS on a section of road usually used only for suspension tests. They were also comparing the GS to an ordinary Tiger Explorer.

‘I know there will be some changes to the engine because I saw them testing throttle response on another road.
