U.S. Navy To Limit Sonar Exercises In Pacific To Protect Marine Animals

An agreement has been reached between the U.S. Navy and environmental groups where the military branch has agreed to limit sonar, explosives, and other exercises in specific areas of the Pacific in order to protect local marine animals.

A court-approved agreement has been reached with the U.S. Navy about limiting activities in specified areas of the Pacific in order to protect marine animals. 

Among the conditions, no sonar or explosives exercises will be held off a section of Southern California coast during the blue whale migration period.
