A team of Japanese researchers has found 24 additional geoglyphs, or large, landscaped designs, in the southern region of Peru.
With an estimated creation date of 400 B.C. to 200 B.C., they are thought to be 200 years older than most of the regional examples on record.
The newly found ones, which follow the tradition of depicting native animals--in this case, likely llamas and camelids--are also smaller in size, ranging from about 16 to 66 feet high
