Santa Lucia: Coastline Erosion Threatens Caribbean Beaches

Coastal erosion is a major threat to Caribbean beaches, and regional governments are scrambling to mitigate the damage. At least 70 percent of people in the Caribbean live on the coasts, with many capital cities less than a mile away from the water’s edge. Now Grenada, Jamaica, St. Vincent and the Grenades and St. Lucia have launched a campaign to save their coastlines from damage brought about by climate change, according to project manager Kenneth Reid.
