Detectives in North Carolina are investigating the death of a woman, who may have been attacked by bears. On Monday, remains were discovered by police in the woods near the remote home of 67-year-old Kay Grayson.

Law enforcement officials believe the remains belong to Grayson who was a wildlife activist and had earned the nickname of 'bear lady'. Deputies were sent to her home on Monday after someone called to report that Grayson hadn't been seen in some time.

Bloodhounds helped locate the bones, human hair and clothing on a path that is frequented by bears.
