Saudi Arabia Proposes Male-Only Olympic Games

A Saudi prince recently proposed segregating Olympic games for men and women. They would also take place in different countries.

The Olympic Games is an event that brings together people from all over the world, regardless of their race, religion, politics or gender. Now, one country is looking to change the latter.

A Saudi Arabian prince believes his country could co-host a segregated Olympics, where male and female athletes would compete separately.

His proposal suggests men would participate in games held in Saudi Arabia, while women would have their own set of games held in nearby Bahrain.

The prince is also an international relations consultant to the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee.

He believes an amendment made to the rules in the Olympic Agenda 2020 reform packet would allow for this to happen.

The reform reportedly allows for events to be held outside of the Olympic host's country or city, but only in "exceptional cases."
