Bad weather is hampering efforts to recover the wreckage of AirAsia flight QZ8501 and its victims.

Not so Indonesia's preparations for the arrival of the bodies of the dead for formal identification.

They'll be brought to this hospital in Surabaya by a fleet of 130 ambulances.

Initially the remains are being taken to a military base where a makeshift morgue's been set up.

Police have been gathering DNA samples and photographs from relatives to help speed up identification.

The Airbus A320-200 vanished on Sunday in bad weather with 162 passengers and crew on board.

By Wednesday at least seven bodies had been found but no survivors.
