00:00And now to that special election for Senator from California.
00:09According to the poll taken by the California Survey Group on voters' preference for that
00:13all-important job, there are some surprising results.
00:17Leading both the Republican and Democratic candidates is the independent nominee, Sushant
00:22Andrews, the widow of the late Senator.
00:25Should the trend continue, Mrs. Andrews would be both the first woman to be elected to that
00:30high office from California and the first of either sex to be elected running as an
00:34independent.
00:36Mrs. Andrews has dropped into the newsroom and will answer some questions right after
00:40these messages.
00:43Good evening, Mrs. Andrews, and welcome to the newsroom.
01:07Nice to see you again, Mr. Cole.
01:10The listeners would like to know exactly what the main issue of your campaign is.
01:14Corruption.
01:16Corruption in government.
01:18Even issues such as inflation and high prices are affected by dealmaking and political
01:24payoffs, by abusers of power and other behind-the-scenes maneuvers that the people never
01:30hear of, never learn about, and if they do, it's too late.
01:34It's a fait accompli.
01:36Open government is the answer.
01:39What every lawmaker does, what every congressman, senator, yes, even the president, what
01:47they do should be observed carefully by the people and their press.
01:53No behind-closed-doors policy.
02:01David?
02:02No.
02:03Why all the James Bond routine?
02:05Couldn't we have met in your office?
02:07Well, ever since Watergate, politicians like myself have to be very careful.
02:12Already I don't like this.
02:15You like the money I'm offering?
02:17$50,000.
02:21I'm not a basketball player, Donald.
02:23Political columnists aren't exactly free agents.
02:27What would I have to do?
02:29Get me some information.
02:31On?
02:32On Suzanne Andrews.
02:37What kind of information?
02:41Anything that will hurt her campaign and help my man win.
02:45And there have been rumors.
02:48Why did you call me, Donald?
02:50Gossip isn't my bag.
02:52Exactly.
02:54You are a respected journalist, David.
02:57You're not noted for gossip or sensationalism.
03:01When you reveal the sordid details of this woman's background, people will believe.
03:07Well, will you do the job for us?
03:12$50,000.
03:17Why not?
03:21You spoke about a sordid background.
03:25What kind of rumors have you heard?
03:28Before she married the senator, she was one of this town's highest-priced tourists.
03:34Well, that's true.
03:36She should feel right at home in Washington.
03:40I tried to start at the beginning.
03:42But Mrs. Andrews' first husband, now a 41-year-old architect, was out of town on a business trip.
03:48Her second husband, a movie star for a short time in the 50s, said he didn't have the time to see me.
03:54He later did.
03:56I offered to pay for the interview.
03:59A former teacher flat-out refused to even talk on the phone and hung up on me.
04:03The first one who did agree to see me, he even seemed anxious to talk,
04:08was a former boxer now working at a downtown arena.
04:14It's really nice meeting you.
04:17I remember seeing a couple of fights you were in.
04:19Oh, yeah?
04:20Yeah, back in college.
04:22Late 50s, early 60s, right?
04:23That's right.
04:24You really were good.
04:25It's pretty good.
04:26Never was going to be champ, though, but that's life.
04:29Look, I appreciate you meeting me.
04:32I'm glad you don't mind answering a few questions.
04:34Why don't you have a seat?
04:40Now, I don't mind answering any questions about Suzanne.
04:45I never have before.
04:47But now that she's running for office,
04:50some of these stories are going to start coming out,
04:52and, well, they're going to sound kind of mean and ugly.
04:56But I'm going to tell you something right out front, Mr. Sutton.
04:59There ain't nothing mean or ugly about Suzanne.
05:02Nothing.
05:04How old was Suzanne when you met her?
05:07She was 21.
05:09It was in 1961.
05:13The reason I remember so clearly is it was just before my last fight.
05:18And after a movie actor husband she had,
05:21she went back to working at a restaurant at night and some other job during the day.
05:25Trying to save money to go back to school.
05:27That's right.
05:29But it was going to be a long time before she went back to school, thanks to me.
05:37When I met that woman, that was it, man.
05:41I wanted her.
05:43I wanted to marry her.
05:46And I would have done anything to get her.
05:49Anything.
05:50You even offered to support her while she went to school?
05:53I know, I know.
05:55That's what the movie actor husband did.
05:58She told me all about it.
06:00That's why she refused my offer.
06:02She didn't want any involvement.
06:04She wanted to do it all by herself.
06:10Well, I figured if I could get my hands on a chunk of cash,
06:15I could say to her, baby, it's yours.
06:19Go on to school.
06:20No tricks, no games, just you and me, you know?
06:26Well, the opportunity for the cash came almost immediately.
06:32I had a fight coming up and like I told you, I never was going to be in the big times.
06:37So when the owner of this dude I was up against
06:40offered me $25,000 to take a dive in the third round,
06:45yeah, I jumped at the chance.
06:49He was a big time gayster named Eddie DeConville
06:53and he was grooming his boy for a shot at the championship.
06:57I only came in the third round and put him right up there.
07:01But what made, what happened real bad was
07:06he had bid over 50 grand, $50,000 on me being knocked out in the third round.
07:15We were in the third round and the fight was going about even.
07:21I remember I never felt so good.
07:24All the thing I had on my mind was $25,000.
07:28That's a lot of money to me, man.
07:31Enough money for me to start a little liquor store
07:35or buy a little house for Susanne and me.
07:38But about in the middle of the round, we got into this clinch, you know,
07:44and this punk whispered in my ear, he said,
07:47okay, dumb nigga, dive.
07:51Well, I sure was a dumb nigga because I didn't take no dive.
07:54I fought, man. I fought like I never fought before.
07:5715 rounds.
08:01I was down, I was down.
08:03I was down, I was down.
08:05I was down, I was down.
08:07I was down, I was down.
08:09I was down, I was down.
08:11I was down, I was down.
08:13I was down, I was down.
08:15I was doing what I love to do, nigga.
08:17This is my life, man. I'm a boxer, man.
08:19I was down, I was down.
08:21I was down, I was down.
08:23I was down, I was down.
08:25I was down, I was down.
08:27I was down, I was down.
08:29I was down, I was down.
08:31I was down, I was down.
08:33I was down, I was down.
08:35I was down, I was down.
08:37I was down, I was down.
08:39I was down, I was down.
08:41I was down, I was down.
08:43I was down, I was down.
08:45I was down, I was down.
08:47I was down, I was down.
08:49I was down, I was down.
08:51I was down, I was down.
08:53I was down, I was down.
08:55I was down, I was down.
08:57I was down, I was down.
08:59I was down, I was down.
09:01I was down, I was down.
09:03I was down, I was down.
09:05I was down, I was down.
09:07I was down, I was down.
09:09I was down, I was down.
09:27I guess it was a stupid gesture on my part.
09:41Man, my face looked like a raw piece of meat.
09:47One of my kidneys went out on me.
09:51I was finished as a boxer.
09:55The worst of all, Eddie was going to have me killed.
10:01I mean, for real, kill me.
10:07You see, his boy won the decision.
10:11But it wasn't the kind of decision that Eddie needed.
10:15Plus he was over $50,000 in the hole.
10:19Because I didn't take the dime.
10:23I didn't take the dime.
10:27Well, I knew Suzanne loved me.
10:31But I never expected her to do what she did for me.
10:35While I was still in the dressing room after the fight,
10:39Suzanne asked Eddie to step outside with her for a talk.
10:43Next thing I knew, the gangsters had me tied up to a training table
10:47and wheeled me into the arena.
10:49Your girlfriend wants me to save your ass.
10:53She says if I kill you, I won't get my dough back.
10:57So I says to her, well, if I don't kill you,
11:01I still won't get my dough back.
11:03Because you're through.
11:05You're never going to fight again.
11:09And where's a bum like you going to give $50,000 to pay me back?
11:13So she comes up with a suggestion.
11:15She says that she'll join my group of girls
11:19and whatever the cut's supposed to be,
11:23we'll go to paying off what you owe me.
11:25Suzanne!
11:27Get down, punk!
11:29Get down!
11:31What do you think, son?
11:33Huh?
11:35What do you think?
11:37What do you think?
11:39What do you think, son?
11:41Huh?
11:43Tell me.
11:47Is she any good?
11:49Huh?
11:51You know, my girls, they get $100,000.
11:53$125,000 a night.
11:55Tell me, son.
11:57Is she worth it?
11:59Is she worth $100,000?
12:01Is she worth $125,000 a night?
12:05I said get down!
12:23You got any references?
12:25Hmm?
12:27I don't have satisfied customers.
12:31Business gets bad.
12:33You got any references?
12:39No, I can't take any chances.
12:41Get in the ring.
12:47What did you say?
12:49I said get in the ring.
13:03I said get in the ring.
13:05Come on.
13:31Walk around a bit.
13:35Okay.
13:45Good.
13:51Now, take off your clothes.
13:57What was that?
13:59I said take them off.
14:05Susan, don't do it!
14:35I said take them off.
15:05I said take them off.
15:35I said take them off.
16:05Mom?
16:35Oh!
16:37Oh!
16:57Oh!
17:05Oh!
17:07Oh!
17:09Oh!
17:13Oh!
17:15Oh!
17:17Oh!
17:33Oh!
17:35Oh!
17:37Oh!
17:47Oh!
17:53Oh!
17:55Oh!
17:57Oh!
17:59Oh!
18:11Oh!
18:13Oh!
18:15Bad long years she worked until I was free
18:23Thank you for telling me this I
18:26Appreciate it
18:28That she was a hooker before she married the senator was obviously true
18:33But I couldn't help wondering of all the women. I've known how many would have done the same for me. I
18:40came up with a zero I
18:42Kept asking myself. What kind of woman would voluntarily do what she did? Where did she come from?
18:52The next day I spoke on the phone to her first husband now remarried with four children
18:58He was a 19 year old soldier in Taiwan when he met the then 15 year old Sushant
19:04He told me that she was born in Peking China of English missionary parents
19:09They were killed in a bombing raid when she was five
19:12The church in England obviously thought she died with them and the servant couple who worked for the parents took care of her as their
19:19own
19:20In 1948 they left the mainland for Taiwan where the old man died soon after
19:26His wife moved outside of Taipei to a farm with some relatives
19:31After he met her the only place he saw her was in what passed as a sitting room at the farmhouse
19:37And the old lady and a man Sushant referred to his uncle would sit in chaperone the whole evening
19:44Being a red-blooded American male and not being able to do anything about it
19:48He asked the uncle if he could marry Sushant at first the old man protested that she was too young
19:55But when the young soldier promised to bring him a two-month supply of rice
19:59Ten cartons of cigarettes and a few cases of candy bars. He agreed
20:04Fortunately, their wedding night was balmy and warm because if they were to consummate the marriage it would have to be outdoors
20:11There was no privacy at her uncle's shack and they didn't want to go to a cheap hotel
20:16So she found a secluded spot in the hills that was beautiful and just right and prepared a blanket
20:22Which was to be their wedding bed
20:34So
20:44Well, the marriage was consummated on that hillside but lasted only as long as the plane trip across the pacific
20:51The soldier's parents very rich very upper class were horrified at what their little boy had done
20:57And they used every possible pressure to destroy the marriage
21:01Financial deportation threats the works
21:04The marriage was conveniently annulled
21:07And the 16 year old sushant found herself alone in la
21:23Excuse me
21:25Are you miss russell?
21:27You're mr. Sutton, aren't you? Yes, I am
21:30I thought I made it perfectly clear on the phone that I have absolutely nothing to say to you. Now, please excuse me
21:37Miss russell take your hands off me
21:40I'm, sorry
21:41But what possible objection can you have to talking because all your reporters are interested in is dirt filth and sensational garbage
21:48To titillate a bunch of sexually repressed readers. Hey, wait a minute. Now. Wait a minute
21:52I happen to be a fairly respectable political columnist and I don't write the kind of material you're talking about
21:58Besides the so-called lurid details of your affair with sushan
22:01They're available to anybody with access to 20 year old papers in any newspaper morning, and i've read all of them
22:09Now what I happen to be interested in is your version of what happened your feelings about sushan
22:15Look, if you want to talk totally off the record, that's okay, too
22:23Come on
22:28So
22:43Hi carrie
22:46Oh
22:49Hello dear, this is my roommate eileen dawson eileen, this is I know david sutton. I read your column all the time
22:56Thank you, please. Won't you sit down?
23:04Sushan I have some shopping to do it should take me a couple of hours
23:14Would you like something to drink no, please don't bother
23:19Well, i'm going to have one
23:21I'm going to need one. All right, i'll join you
23:24Scotch rocks
23:29It was nice meeting you mr. Sutton see you again, please please sit down
23:34I have a roast in the oven. It'll be all right till I get back
23:54You
23:56Well, what would you like to know whatever you want to tell me why don't we just start to
24:03At the beginning, right? I suppose that's logical
24:10I just began teaching and I was working at this valley high school at night
24:15It was a class for adults who wanted to get a high school diploma
24:18Sushan was one of the students
24:21She was only 16 at the time, but I didn't know that
24:24She told the school that she was 21 and was working in the daytime in a hamburger stand
24:31Now I knew where I was sexually since my college days and I
24:38I found it difficult to keep my eyes off her during class
24:43Almost every night she would
24:45Talk to me after class asking me to
24:47recommend books for her to read
24:50Which films to see what music to listen to
24:55She had a tremendous desire to learn
25:00So I began inviting her to concerts took her to see plays
25:08She often went with me to museums and art galleries
25:13Every night we'd stop and have a bite at a small coffee shop
25:16But it was several months before I finally got up the nerve to invite her to my apartment
25:29That was delicious, thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it
25:37So, what are you going to do when you finish school I
25:42Go to college
25:45I thought I told you that what are you going to study? I'm not sure
25:52Maybe teaching maybe I'll be a teacher
25:57It's going to take a long time you're 21 now and you still have to finish high school
26:08Can you keep a secret
26:14I'm not really 21. I'm 16
26:1916
26:23Oh my god
26:25Um
26:43Give me that wine no more
26:53She then told me about a soldier in taiwan
26:55the marriage the parents
26:58Did you know about that?
27:00She said I was the first person she'd ever told this to
27:04She said that she was ashamed that there must be something wrong with her
27:07Why else would his parents have treated her in such a way?
27:10Can you believe that?
27:12those bastards
27:20So sean
27:21listen
27:23Why don't you move in here with me?
27:25I have a small room that I use as a study and I I really don't even need it. I could uh,
27:31move my desk into the bedroom and
27:33And then you wouldn't have to pay any rent and you could go to school in the daytime and get through that much quicker
27:40Thank you, I I couldn't but thank you really
27:49She was a bit overwhelmed
27:51and first refused
27:53But finally agreed on the condition that she'd pay me something
27:56She continued working at the hamburger stand two nights a week and all day saturday
28:00She went to high school every day and got straight a's and was doing wonderfully
28:06It was both wonderful and terrible for me
28:10Wonderful and having her around
28:13Being able to look at that beautiful face
28:16to talk to her
28:18To watch her delight in learning
28:21To see her grow
28:25But also it was terrible because I I couldn't touch her I couldn't hold her
28:33I couldn't tell her how much I
28:37How much I loved her
28:39I used to wonder if she had any idea
28:42There were never any men to come and take me out
28:45My only friends were women and some that came to the house were fairly obvious
28:50She never gave me any indication
28:54Until one night
28:56Sushant had been unusually quiet at dinner
29:00Every time I would look up I would see her staring at me and she would turn away
29:05Right after dinner she excused herself and went to her room and closed the door behind her
29:11A number of times I almost knocked but decided it was best not to disturb her
29:16Finally I went to bed but I
29:18I couldn't sleep and I decided to correct some test papers, but I couldn't do that either. My mind was on Sushant
29:32Sushant something wrong?
29:46Sushant what is it?
29:49Sushant
29:51I am yours if you want
30:00You can't want him
30:18So
30:48So
31:18So
31:20So
31:45You're doing this because I've been kind to you there's really no need
31:50So
32:20So
32:35May I freshen your drink? Yeah, that'd be fine
32:45My bliss didn't last very long
32:48Another teacher who had been trying to make it with me found out that Sushant was living with me
32:53And found out that she was only 16 years old
32:56In a fit of jealousy, she reported it to the board of education
33:02Well, it was a juicy scandal as you know
33:06Hit all the newspapers I was fired
33:11Ended teaching career
33:14Sushant was put in a foster home
33:17the end
33:20Did you ever see her again
33:24No
33:26But she always manages to send me something for my birthday
33:31By the way, what do you think of her chances in the election?
33:34Well, you could answer that better than I
33:36You're the political columnist
33:39All I can say is she's got my vote
33:42As long as there are people who are economically deprived
33:45socially deprived or psychologically deprived as long as inequality and injustice prevail
33:51None of us are safe. We cannot be content in our comfortable homes and neighborhoods because from the hopelessness and despair of their deprivation
34:00They will strike out blindly and the innocent amongst us as well as the guilty will be hurt
34:05Let us work together to wipe out injustice and deprivation for all our sakes
34:12Thank you
34:16Please do forgive me for being so mercenary, but
34:19These past 18 years
34:21My god hasn't been in that long
34:25These past 18 years have rather been lean one
34:28You've heard of overnight successes
34:31After the accident in which Sushant was involved
34:36I became an overnight failure an untouchable
34:39I had not had a single acting job since 1959 and I was a pretty big star then if you remember
34:51Do you like to take a swim?
34:53Uh, no, no, thank you
34:55The water is 98 degrees all year round
34:59You sure you don't want to take a swim?
35:01No, thanks
35:02Look, why don't you tell me how you met Sushant?
35:04Why don't you tell me how you met Sushant?
35:07Okay, you've paid for a story and you should get it
35:11He met Sushant at a restaurant on the strip where she was working as a hot check girl
35:16She had graduated high school while living in a foster home
35:19Then had left and was working at two different jobs
35:22Her plan was to do that for a whole year and save enough money so that she could go to ucla
35:28But he was going to change all that
35:34So
35:39The moment he met her at the restaurant he knew she'd be perfect for him
35:43He asked her to go out with him that night, but she told him she had to be up early for a daytime job
35:48So he made a date for the following friday
35:51They went out to dinner at a restaurant where he knew the maitre d would call all the columnists and tell him that he was
35:56Seen with a very beautiful and mysterious unknown girl
36:01He found her warm delightful
36:03And most important for him completely naive
36:07All through dinner all she could talk about was going to ucla and becoming a teacher
36:16Later when he suggested they go to his house for some after dinner drinks
36:19She looked at him somewhat suspiciously
36:22But he assured her that his house boy would be there to chaperone
36:33So
37:03So
37:28How do you like my house
37:30Oh, it's beautiful
37:35How would you like to live here
37:42I mean as my wife your wife, but you know hardly anything about me
37:52But i've only just met you
37:55I hardly even know you
37:58Then tonight I will tell you everything you need to know about me
38:07To begin with i'm very handsome
38:11He then outlined other virtues he possessed
38:14And how it would be to her benefit to marry him
38:17Her name would be in newspapers and magazines all the time on tv. They would talk of jean-paul carré and his beautiful wife
38:25That he would soon be very rich. Everybody said he would soon be hollywood's biggest star
38:31Therefore she could quit both her jobs and enroll immediately at ucla
38:36And not have to wait till the following year
38:39He stressed that that was all she would have to do
38:42No working no cooking
38:45No cleaning his house boy did all that
38:48All she would have to do is go to school and a few nights a week fulfill some social
38:53Engagements such as a premiere of an important film
38:57And that's all she would have to do
39:00At least that's all he was telling her now
39:14She argued and protested for hours
39:18He said it was rather charming to hear her talk of love everlasting love
39:23She was very romantic sentimental
39:26Really still a school girl
39:28Little did she know what he had in store for her
39:31He let her talk. But as he reminded me very few people could resist him in those days
39:38By the morning she agreed to marry him
39:40And
39:44Three days later they flew to vegas were married by justice of the peace and flew back the same day
39:50The three days before were a whirlwind
39:53He bought sushan thousands of dollars worth of clothes and personally went down with her to ucla and registered her
40:00Newspapers and magazines by the hundreds interviewed them and took pictures
40:04It was a madhouse
40:06Now their nuptial bliss was to begin
40:09Sushan was in for a surprise
40:16Would you care to take a look the room is basically the same as it was then
40:38So
41:09Um
41:26You poor darling
41:31You didn't suspect anything did you
41:34I suspect what is it?
41:50Did it seem strange that I didn't try to make love to you or even try to kiss you
41:56Didn't that seem strange to you
41:59You
42:01Didn't you suspect that I was gay
42:10Then why did you marry me
42:13He told her he needed a wife for a couple of reasons
42:16The moviegoers of america would now know that he was a normal red-blooded virile male
42:22Who had taken as his wife a beautiful sensual feminine woman?
42:26When they went out in public people would look at them and say
42:29No, all those stories are lies
42:32But even more important for him that is
42:36He told her that he was not attracted by homosexuals
42:39but by heterosexual men
42:41Strong masculine types who wouldn't dream of going to bed with him
42:45But they would with you
42:51And all I want to do
42:54Is watch
43:00That's all
43:06He said she was horrified
43:09She ran away and was gone for two whole days before she came back
43:13She argued with him pleaded cried
43:17and finally agreed
43:20He thought she mainly went along because she actually loved him
43:24He said she had the naive notion that so many women have women more mature and more sophisticated than sushan
43:30That she could change him
43:33He said that once she made the commitment she was marvelous
43:37She brought home men that he found fantastic
43:40all kinds from super studs to young boys
43:43He said that it was great while it lasted and if a few of them became squeamish about a man watching
43:50He would withdraw to the bedroom and peek through the curtains
43:54But most of them in order to get her to sleep with them
43:57Probably would have done it in the hollywood bowl with an audience of 25 000 watching
44:13So
44:43So
44:51This particular afternoon he told me she had brought home one of her fellow students from college
44:57He was young and very attractive
45:00He told me he wished he could turn the clock back and change what happened that day
45:04I
45:09Had read all the newspaper stories and there were all kinds of implications in them
45:14I asked him if sushan was out there when it happened
45:18He told me that she had gone inside to study and the boy remained outside with him
45:24He suggested that he teach him some of the finer points of self-defense
45:28But of course it was just a ploy to get closer to him to touch him
45:34So
46:04So
46:35As I already knew from the newspapers the boy was in a coma for days
46:39And came out only long enough to tell the police that jean-paul had sexually attacked him
46:45He then fell back into the coma and died
46:48But then he told me something that wasn't in the papers
46:52Jean-paul had made money up until then but not real money
46:55The big dollars were yet to come
46:58And of course after the accident they never did
47:01In a short time all the money he had went to the attorneys who defended him
47:06With no income from the studio. He went broke
47:10Sushan then quit school went back to her two jobs and supported him for about a year
47:17Only when a trust fund came due and he was able to take care of the mortgage payments and the groceries
47:22Only then did she divorce him and go on her way
47:27It's quite a girl
47:31I suppose you'll vote for in the coming election
47:37What do you think
47:41To represent and to help better the conditions of the people who elected them
47:48I would feel privileged if elected
47:51to join other elected officials
47:54in being truly responsive to the needs
47:58and desires
47:59of my constituents
48:01Oh, you must be um, mr. Sutton, right? Yeah, she's expecting me. Oh, well fine. Let's hear if you have a seat. Wait for it
48:07Okay. Okay. Thank you
48:17I'm sorry. I'm late but between the damn cat and the
48:21You aren't even Sutton, aren't you? That's right
48:25Thank you, darling
48:28Why don't you have a hot fudge sundae
48:30No, it's simply marvelous. Just coffee, please. No, no, no. No, i'm famous for my hot fudge
48:37Well, that sounds fine
48:38Will you have one with me? No, thank you. I'm dieting boys a hot fudge sundae for mr. Sutton
48:46You you are a very attractive man
48:52I was going to say for a political columnist
48:56But
48:57Why shouldn't a reporter be handsome?
49:00Robert redford played, uh, uh woodward in
49:04that watergate movie
49:06Or did he play bernstein?
49:08No, no, no
49:10Dustin hoffman must have played bernstein
49:15Or did he play woodward? Oh, no, he played uh, bernstein
49:19Hoffman played bernstein. Oh
49:22Look, uh about mrs. Andrews
49:24Oh, i'm sorry darling, of course you want to hear about suzanne after all that's why we're here, isn't it?
49:34Eddie carla sent her to my house where the girls live
49:37Oh, no business was transacted there darling
49:41And he told me he thought she was a schmuck for doing what she was doing for that fighter
49:46No, excuse my language darling. I'm just quoting eddie
49:50I tended to agree with him. I mean, I certainly wouldn't have done it for any man, but
49:55As I said, she was special
49:58Maybe it was the chinese background. I don't know
50:06The culture is
50:10No, doesn't that look divine yes, it looks good
50:15I'm, just going to take one little taste
50:17You don't mind do you know
50:21Why don't you have one?
50:24No, no, no, no, I just couldn't you go right ahead and eat
50:30um
50:31I'll tell you all about suzanne
50:33After looking her over I introduced her to the three girls. She was going to share her life with for the next five years
50:48So
50:58Hi suzanne, i'm billy welcome to hooker heaven
51:02Are are you one of the girls? You bet your sweet ass. I am honey
51:07I give a man his money's worth
51:11Hi, my name is cynthia
51:17My name is cleopatra they call me cleo I get all the hair freaks
51:23The girls immediately took suzanne under their wings
51:27I guess they thought she was crazy, but
51:30At the same time they admired her
51:33Do you know what? I mean darling?
51:35I suppose I do
51:40Look what i've done. I finished your sunday
51:43Why don't you order one? Yeah, I thought I did
51:51Well, the girls were very protective of suzanne they they taught her what there was to know and
51:57When after a few weeks she decided to enroll in ucla
52:01They really thought she was crazy darling. Yep
52:04They did everything they could to help her
52:07All sorts of things. I I mean they'd fill in for when she had tests
52:12I think give her quizzes
52:14all sorts of things
52:25All right now one two three four one two higher higher higher for god's sake
52:33I
52:42Needed that one like I needed another 10 pounds god, what do I have to do to get you?
53:02Get that stomach off and get those feet going going going come on one two three four five six seven eight
53:13I don't want to paint an overly pretty picture. I mean after all darling it isn't a very pretty business is it in fact?
53:21It can be downright ugly at times
53:24There were some scenes there were
53:27There were beatings there were there were things I don't care to relate
53:31But through it all
53:34Suzanne retained
53:37If you will allow darling a
53:39a certain
53:41purity
53:42all of the filth seemed to just wash off and
53:45And while the girls and I helped her in many ways like like even loaning her wigs so she wouldn't be recognized
53:53I really I really think she did more for us
53:57Yes
54:07One christmas
54:09What does a hooker do christmas eve darling?
54:13Well one christmas I did my usual santa claus bit and there was a lot of laughter
54:20somewhat forced and
54:21A lot of dirty jokes, you know girls style and not too much of the christmas spirit
54:35Oh
54:52Oh
55:13Silent night holy night
55:22All is bright
55:26Round yon virgin mother and child
55:47Sleep in heavenly peace
55:52Oh
56:05Who are you gonna see now darling
56:08I'm not sure
56:10Why don't you see susan?
56:12I don't know. I'm not sure they would serve any purpose
56:16She's expecting you
56:18expecting me
56:19That's what she said
56:21You've spoken to her
56:23Well, you don't think any of us would have told you what we did unless we had talked to her
56:29How do you?
56:36Just one tiny little bite darling as mrs. Andrew
56:49So
57:19You
